Official Vanderbilt ED1 Class of 2020 Discussion Thread

Accepted and absolutely thrilled!! (2330 superscored SAT, 4.7 weighted GPA for reference). Congratulations to my future classmates, and for the rest of y’all, you’re one step closer to ending up exactly where you’re supposed to be.

Congrats to everyone accepted it was fun to get to know such amazing people I guess it just wasn’t meant to be…

Rejected…good luck and have fun at Vandy everyone!! And to those who were also rejected, everything happens for a reason

Don’t forget to post on the results thread everyone! To everyone that didn’t get in, you are all AMAZING and are going to find a school that’s a perfect fit, I know it (:

Alright. Now. Anybody have any ideas for backups in the same region? Since I can’t get in to vandy, I guess I have to lower my standards. Anybody have any ideas?

Sardine, consider Wake forest. similar size, has spirit with good sports conference. It is the new Vandy. A little easier to get in, beautiful campus, not a great city. Emory? Tulane? all similar size…

@TheSardine UNC Chapel Hill and UVA are great schools and somewhat similar to Vanderbilt as far as campus life

ACCEPTED!! SO EXCITED TO BE A COMMODORE!"!

Heyy everyone! I got accepted as an international, but my finaid award is lower than what I needed. Do you think Vanderbilt will increase it if I contact them? Thanks!

so excited to be able to say accepted!

all that time, work and effort…
seriously, never been so mad and irritated before…

Anyone got accepted to Peabody put your hands up! yay!

I’m so bummed, all that time and work, everything I did. I honestly don’t understand. Average GPA, but full IB, amazing rec letters, internship at UC Berkeley, 33 ACT with 36 science, amazing EC’s, captain of tennis team and work 20 hours a week at a fine dining restaurant plus a billion other things. Amazing CoRPs interview. I don’t understand. This is stupid

What was your GPA? 33 is the low end for ACT by Vanderbilt’s standards, and they don’t look at that much at the subscores for ACT as far as I know. What ECs did you have besides team captain? You sound like a super qualified candidate to tons of schools, but unfortunately Vandy has become insanely hard to be accepted to! I’m sure you’ll end up at a great school.

SO HAPPY! Congratulations to everyone else who got in!

blessed to have been accepted  see you all in a couple of months!

I got in!!! Only had a 31 on my ACT, so I was shocked…

Congrats @Guacamole629 , ( and 31 ACT is still a great score) my son is trying RD with a 30, but I think with good EC’s etc. What do you think was the difference maker for you?

I got in to Vanderbilt!! I’m super excited and cant wait to meet all of you amazing people in the fall!!!
