What kind of things can I do to get off the waitlist?

They have a post on the on their blog. Google something like “I’m on the waitlist at Vanderbilt, what now?” They basically said to send in your spring grades ASAP and besides that there is little you can do.

I did mail my admissions counselor to express my interest in the school.

Is there anything that you can to do online? I read that you had to do something online.

Still wait listing … Is there anything I can do except sending my spring transcripts? Ehh… The pressure.

How does the waitlist work?
Is there a ranking system lie from 1 to X, and the applicants get accepted from top to bottom?

Or do our spring grades and other stuff help them decide?

Has anyone been accepted off the waitlist yet?

Does anyone have experience with transfer credit at Vanderbilt? I feel like they are not going to accept any of my credits and I will have to do two extra years there!

Transfer credit at Vanderbilt is evaluated by the individual school you have been accepted to. All my credits from last year were accepted, but I know the Engineering school has a very streamlined process. I believe Arts and Sciences requires you to send in syllabi, and so does Peabody. They also have some restrictions, so getting transfer credit will be harder. Overall, however, I would guess Vanderbilt is very fair when evaluating previous college work.

Did anyone get accepted off the list?

My daughter called her admissions counselor June 28 to yet again express interest:-) She was told that the waitlist would likely close in two weeks… so looks like just one more week of limbo.

anyone heard back yet? i haven’t received an email from them saying that the class is full so there’s still hope!

Nope… haven’t heard anything… Daughter called again at the end of last week… just spoke with someone at Admissions Desk… said the waitlist will close at end of July… So, at least there is an end in sight to this misery… What school are you applying to?

I applied to CAS. Still really hope i get in. Will be attending Emory in the fall if it doesn’t work out for me but Vanderbilt’s my dream school and i’d do anything to get in!

Just curious here, I’ve never been in wait list before, so I’m not sure how we r going to know our results. Should we get all of our notification by the time they close the wait list, or they give those decisions when they become available.

Still on the wait-list as well. But I doubt I’ll attend even if I’m accepted by the end of this month. Most likely full tuition at Vanderbilt…

I dont want to sound rude, but you should withdraw your application then if you know you cant attend, because there are many other people who are waitlisted that would attend if they were accepted. Plus, it makes it much easier on the admissions office.

^ I never said I can’t attend, only if I am required to pay full tuition. I’m also applying for a separate aid program that might cover some costs should I be accepted.

My D transferred to Vandy after freshman year & got lots of credit. Some was “free” credit that counted toward credits to graduate, but quite a bit transferred as a particular class. For example, her bio credits fulfilled the lab science at Vandy.
