Also xfer I think your GPA for both college and high school looks fine but the ACT is a little on the lower side, and since you’re a freshman Vanderbilt will probably put a little more emphasis on ACT and HS stats. I think the average accepted ACT to Vanderbilt is about a 32? I’m not completely sure on that though…

Today is the day! I hope you all get in! :)

You didn’t apply Beachlover?

Although i am not applying this year, i hope the best for y’all. For those who get in: You have to help me out next year when i actually apply. May luck be with you!

^^ No, I didn’t apply. Parents said they can’t afford/wouldn’t pay.

pepe, I SWEAR if I get in, I will pay it forward big time! So, Beachlover, what’s your plan?

Yep, I also submitted my app and am waiting patiently for whatever decision my come my way, but I am very hopeful that I will be accepted :D

Does anyone know when they send the first batch of decisions? Is it mid-April or later on in May?

They said that they will start releasing decisions beginning in mid-April and it will continue like that until all the spots are filled, which could last well into the late summer.

Trying to keep calm…

Are we still posting stats? Lol, I’ll give you guys a quick overview

I’d be happy if I was waitlisted TT . I love Vanderbilt so much and it seems like the perfect school for me T___T

You sound like a strong candidate for admission. I feel the same about being wait listed because the school sounds like a huge match for me! :)

so since Vanderbilt doesn’t ask for mid terms, how much of a disadvantage are we at if we don’t send them in?

I mean they don’t ask for it, and your app is considered complete without it so it shouldn’t really hurt you right?

It doesn’t hurt to not send it in, it can only help. Send it in if you think it will help you out, but if it may hinder you, then don’t send it. That’s what I’ve gathered about it.

What about in the situation if adcoms compare two applicants with similar stats but one sent in a mid term report and the other one didn’t.

Does submitting your app in early or mid February mean you will receive a decision sooner than someone who submits in March (like 1st or 2nd), but still two weeks before the deadline?

lelouch, I am not sure how adcoms would handle a situation such as the one you described, but I would not stress too much over it. If the Mid-Term Report was that important, then it would likely be required.

transva, I do not think it makes a difference whether your app is complete in early February or early March because March 15 is a priority deadline. Do not quote me, though…

Am I the only one who hasn’t received a confirmation email from Vandy?

Common App website says my supplement was submitted 12/24/2012, application on 3/11/2013, payment on 3/15/2013. And that my application was “downloaded” on 3/12/2013.

anontransfer
They might still be in the process of putting your file together. You won’t get the confirmation email until ALL of your application materials have been received. Did you send the supplementary documents yet (two Instructor Evaluations, College Official’s Report, College Transcript, Secondary School Report, Secondary School Transcript, and ACT or SAT score)? If some of the documents were sent recently, they might just need some time to go through the mail and be processed.
