@elijahcraig12 some of the people look like cardboard cutouts.

SomeTransfer you are evil. Though I knew you were bs-ing, I still felt a little adrenaline rush. I wonder how I’ll feel when I’m rejected.

Hi guys we finally found it and it was a REJECTION from WashU. I guess I am 1 to 1 now.
Accepted to UNC - Chapel Hill
Waiting for Vandy
Rejected from Wash U’s Olin School of Business :(

I have a predicament that I’m not sure how to deal with. When I run into my professors (who wrote my letters of rec) on campus, they always mention to whoever is nearby that I’m trying to leave my current school because it’s not good enough and head off to a “fancy pants” school… Almost like they’re mocking me. I just awkwardly giggle and don’t say anything else. Hmmm.

Ahhhhhh I was rejected by WashU too! Not even WL, crispy rej in 7 days. Hopefully we can got into Vandy, cause I love Vandy much more Congrats on UNC. Good school

@anontransfer93
That would be awkward, and I actually feel a little mean. Just ignore them. Hope you can transfer to your top choice “good enough”. You deserve better

Thanks, I am very happy with UNC and may go there even if I get accepted to Vandy. Kenan Flagler gets all Wall Street recruiters.
I know! It was so disappointing. My consultant told me that it is very likely that they may not have accepted anyone for my major. What major did you apply in? Mine was Economics.

Are you applying for any other schools?

So, about a week or so now? Oh, gosh!

Yes, the wait is finally drawing to a close (hopefully). Any day now… Recently I have been getting butterflies each time I check the mail, even though I am 99% confident that the earliest we will hear back is next week.

Hey Guys!

Just wanted to say that I have lurked this thread for a long time, but it was about time that I create an account and express the uneasiness of having to wait for a decision.

Only a little bit longer!!! Good luck to everyone and I hope to meet you guys in the fall!

How about they lost my HS transcript and just got my app complete today:(

Hi! I am looking to applying next year as a transfer to Vandy. I would like to know whether you guys personalized the common app essay specially to vandy or not?

Hi macarons
I considered personalizing my Common App essay for Vandy, but I ended up not doing it. Once you submit the App to one school, it cannot be changed before submitting it to any additional schools (there is a way around this, but I am not sure how to do it). I also figured that if it was very important to write specifically about Vandy, then the Supplement would have a “Why Vanderbilt” essay. I mostly just talked about why my current school isn’t right for me and what kinds of things I am looking for to improve my college experience. It’s ultimately your choice, though.

^ I am hoping it was clear in my essay that Vanderbilt offers everything I am looking for, because it really does.

There is a way to do different versions of the Common app essay. Google it. I agree, though, that if Vandy wanted a “Why Vandy?” essay they’d probably have one. I wish they did.

I did a “Why Vandy” essay. I made sure to incorporate why I wanted to apply to Vandy while at the same time showing the things that I don’t have at my school, and how Vandy would be a perfect fit for me since they have those things (i.e. specific clubs, programs, class size, campus life, etc.)

Man, less than a week now, things are getting intense…

Did anyone else turn any of their stuff in late?

I never took that frickin college officials report thing seriously and by the time my advisor completed it the deadline had passed. Then lo and behold, my fax failed to go through. I overnighted it when I got the email that my application wasn’t complete, and I got the official complete application email a few days ago.

I’ve just been stressing that this whole ordeal is gonna weaken my chances. I feel I’m a pretty strong applicant but I have no clue how this will affect me.

has anyone called or emailed to ask when the first round of decisions will be mailed out?

Vandy has admissions Blogs. When they mailed the regular decisions, they wrote a Blog post about it. I’m assuming they might write a post telling when Transfer decisions are mailed. But I’m confused, because they also talk about rolling out transfer admissions decisions. “beginning in the middle of April.” Some places they say this is done based on application date. Does anyone know if this is true, or if they roll out in order of acceptance, waitlist, denial like some other schools do?

I guess it would be done based on application date, since some people got their app complete emails before the March 15 priority deadline, although I think that if you turned your app in around then you’ll probably get your decision some time this week, most probably Thursday or Friday.
