Nervous guys? Haha i’m going to be in your shoes next year… it’s a daunting task to have to do the college process all over again.

I just called and the Armstrong fellow said I could call next Tuesday or Wednesday for my decision.

So Neurotransfer, what they would imply is that they’re mailing out decisions this week, and if you haven’t gotten yours by then, you can call. Could be wrong, I guess, but I doubt they would invite a lot of phone calls.

So some decisions are just sent out today??? ohhhh I am getting nervous than ever…

Allisonnian, did you call? how do you know this???

Makes sense. If they sent the first batch today then they should arrive in the next few days, quite possibly Thursday or earlier than that. Either way this is the week! Best of luck to all!

@ngaber4
My bad if I misled you. Since today is 4.15, I just assumed it as mid-april. And I read thread from last year. If not today probably just few days later:)

From the Vandy Blog and comments section, it seems like April 17 was the mailing date for 2012 and April 18 was the mailing date for 2011.

For 2012, it seems like there was a range of 1-3 days from the initial mailing date until reception of the decision. People in Nashville got it on the 18th, it looks like people in surrounding states got it on the 19th, and people further away got it on the 20th.

Also, the Vandy blog says that they use First Class Mail for all transfer decisions (rather than the faster Priority Mail that they use for HS acceptances), so hopefully they’ll mail them out earlier this year so we won’t have to wait till the weekend

Ugh! I think east coast would count as 3+ days then, wouldn’t it?

I wish all colleges would send decisions by email… Or at least post decisions online. Vanderbilt doesn’t do either of these, does it?

I got an email from Vanderbilt on Apr 1 saying that my application was complete and ready for review. I sent my application before March 15th though and I even called to make sure everything was there. Is my application considered late?

No, getting the email means you’re on time. The only reason why Vandy calls the 15th a priority deadline is because they don’t have a set deadline. Based on their transfer admissions policy, an individual could technically apply to Vandy after the 15th, for example today. However, the odds of receiving the complete application email greatly diminish if you submit your app after the 15th. In short, you’re fine.

thanks lelouch, you da best

no problem man

well…who thinks applicants close to Vandy will hear something tomorrow?

i have a feeling that they will. anyone here from tennessee?

but then again… if they had more transfer applicants this year then it might have taken them longer to make their first round of decisions.

I have a question about this first round of decisions they send out. Are you automatically in the first round (whether accepted or rejected) if you submitted your application early? Or do they only send decisions to people they were sure they wanted or sure they didn’t want?

^^ I think it is just depends on how competitive the applicant is since transfer admissions are rolling. So definite acceptances or definite rejections will probably come earlier, while in-between candidates might be pushed a little later so they can see how they stack up relative to everyone else before making a final decision. And then the order in which they received applications is a factor too (according to the Vandy Blog).

All speculation though, but hopefully this week

And youre probably right on a large number of transfer applicants… the Vandy transfer thread has more pages than almost all other transfer threads - the only one I saw with more pages was USC.

Though it could be that maybe we Vandy transfer applicants are just more antsy haha?!?

Don’t forget that it’s mostly just the same people venting/having multiple nervous breakdowns about decisions coming out and their chances. So the number of people isn’t as much as it looks like with the number of pages. Moving on, I realllllllllllllly hope people start getting decisions tomorrow. I’m done waiting. I want my decision this week, preferably before the weekend.

Elijahcraig12, there really aren’t thaaaat many people on this board. When it began in October, only about a handful of people were posting and we were all conversing with each other and also pointing out the lack of other posters. Although as the weeks went on the amount of random posters grew. And I would be one of the antsy ones posting multiple times.

I’ve heard nothing, and quite frankly, I’m just waiting patiently. (and I’m tired of it) I haven’t contacted the admissions office in a while, because I feel like no matter who I talk to, no one can give me a definite answer as to when decisions will be released. (And in what order - definite acceptions/rejections/waitlists/etc.)
