Well, best of luck to those who haven’t received decisions yet. The second wave goes out tomorrow so we should start hearing on Saturday from Nashvillians who were accepted in the second wave, and most probably Monday/Tuesday for the rest of us.

@millionth, got my application complete email on tuesday, lol feels good not to be the only one.

We definitely won’t be getting our decision mails with the second wave, unfortunately :(

I just got an email on Tuesday about my school leaving a part of a form blank, so I had to fax that section to them. I feel like I won’t get a decision for awhile :(

@Afrogenius lol, that sucks. best luck to all anyhow

@NewbeeTransfer
Yeah sorry for the delay. I had mine sent to my home not my school address

@ evandy Is your home address your mailing address?

Found out I was accepted today!

Stats:
- college GPA: 4.0, mid-term GPA: 3.93
- Binghamton University
- SAT: 1540/2170
- SAT2:
physics: 750, mathII: 780, literature: 720 - positive recs from a physics professor and my scholars’ class instructor. i didn’t see them but they would definitely have been more professional than personal, though i received an A in each class so they’re probably pretty good
- HS GPA: 90.6/100 weighted (not great but w/e. i’ve performed well in college)
- awards:
national merit scholar, president’s scholar, binghamton university scholar, dean’s list

other potentially notable things:
- i’m a TA for introductory calc-based physics 1
- i’m a second semester freshman and 4 of my 5 courses this semester are at the 300 level or above
- i think my essay is pretty strong

Based on the fact that people are getting acceptances on random days, maybe decisions are mailed any day of the week rather than solely on Fridays. Congratulations to the recent admittances, by the way, and good luck to those who are still waiting.

Unfortunately, there are so few of us posting on this thread that our sample size just can’t tell us anything. Probably there are waitlist and denial decisions (besides the one we’ve seen) out there, but we don’t know where and when they received them. We also don’t know if the people who have gotten mid-week decisions had mailing dates of last Friday (and maybe went to a school mailbox which takes awhile to sort) or not. It’s really frustrating. And Vandy, can’t you see by my analytical skills, that I’d be perfect for you? And I’m funny too.

I’m still sure that they’re going to mail more decisions today

Newtocollege: you are right. We have no idea how many denials and wait-lists are out there, nor do we even know how many acceptances there are because not everyone who gets accepted will post on this thread. Honestly, the only thing I do know for sure is that this wait is very painful.

^yessssssssssssssssssss shawshank

Accepted! Date: 4.19. Got my package earlier today.

Hey! Congrats Newbee! It was looking good from your email yesterday.

Congrats! Any idea whether you’ll be attending Vandy?

Lol, I was stalking your profile to see your stats and I think I saw that you got into Olin, and are applying to Haas and McIntire?

I decided to send Vandy an updated grade report, since I obviously didn’t make it into their first round of decisions. I hope that seeing I still have A’s in all my classes might make a difference, but probably not…

Has anyone else noticed how bad the timing is with decisions being sent out by colleges? It’s right around my last few weeks of classes / finals, when I need to be focused and not super depressed over getting rejected… I can’t motivate myself to do anything but crawl into bed each day after checking my mailbox.

Woah woah wait, so even though it was postmarked a week ago people are receiving priority mail a week later?! What kind of bogus magic is this?

yarrum, I don’t think making it into Vandy’s first round of decisions means you’re not a top applicant. If anything we’ve learned, it’s that Vandy’s a complete wild card in sending out decisions…

*not making it

I hope you’re right, lelouch. I’m in the same boat as calej93… I’m convinced my boyfriend and I will break up if I don’t get into a good school. He’s a doctor who went to one of the best universities in the world, so I don’t see why he’d want to date someone like me. Sigh. College admissions makes me feel so crappy. :(

Anyway, best of luck to everyone who is still waiting for decisions. Hopefully a lot of us will get our decision tomorrow / Monday, so that we don’t have to keep waiting! I think we all deserve to get in - if only the top schools had enough room to accept all of us!
