When will we find out about Scholarships? (Not Presidential)

Does anyone know around what time RD decisions are released?

@simpleasthat937 My son got a letter yesterday indicating he is a finalist for the Villanova Scholarship. Not sure if those letters all went out at once or if they are rolling out. It said he will be contacted by the end of the month to set up an alumni interview.

FYI, he’s 96.8% GPA unweighted, top 4% of his class, 770 Math, 680 CR, 730 Writing; Varsity athlete, editor in chief of yearbook, good community service.

My sons received the same letter yesterday, advising them that they are finalists for the Villanova Scholarship.

^^^ Our D also received the candidate for Presidential Scholarship letter and the need for the alumni interview by the end of February.

There is a lot of confusion around this, and many articles treat SCEA and REA as synonymous. However, as I believe previous posters have shown, there is a difference. Single Choice Early Action means that you can only apply to that school EA, whereas REA is less restrictive and means that you cannot apply if you are also applying to an Early Decision school. Some schools will allow you to apply to them and and ED school and then just withdraw your application if you get in to the ED school. For REA schools, you cannot apply to them EA if you are also applying somewhere ED. The quoted posts from the GTown and BC websites bear this out.

There are also sometimes exceptions allowed for REA if a student needs to apply EA at another school in order for an opportunity for a scholarship.

We visited Villanova last week and absolutely loved it. Clean, spacious, excellent people … good luck everyone with their scholarships & decisions!

Anyone know when deferred EA decisions will be announced?

I believe deferred EA applications are rolled in with RD applications so they will come by late March, per their website.

Does anyone know when the regular decision “student aceepted” days will be held?

I have them on my calendar for April 11th and 12th.

No merit aid. Laborious financial aid process. Other schools offered big merit aid packages so it’s a no to Villanova business school.
