Hello Everyone! My rowing son is travelling to see a few ivies at coaches' request ( on our own dime we know) to meet after prereads and talking. He has OVs at 2 that we are bypassing as they have given him that to check out the campus. My question is simply what do my husband and my son wear ?? they will be back east. My husband wears a uniform at work so has no 'dressy' casual wear just one formal suit (black) - should he wear that on the unofficial and try to jauntily not wear a tie and roll up the sleeves? What about son? Uniform or casual dress with a shirt with a collar? I hate not knowing what to pack them. I can't go and will be working. Son will go to the OVs alone and does he wear his school uniform? Thanks I just don't want them to be worrying about how they look.

Hi
it all went well, more ovs and talked to head/freshman coach at all UV with more OVs for all the places my boy wants in offing. If any one needed to figure this out I can help - but it doesn’t look like it!

Hi all
If you are reading this, well it is not relevant except to applications for 2014 ED. Last year, 2013, my son went to his 5 faves on OVs and chose one of HYP and is going there on ED acceptance. If someone like me (i.e.completely clueless on recruitment) has questions to ask that they are reluctant to ask about ivy recruitment - ask me! hopefully someone more senior will answer but in the meantime ,I’ll weigh in with my lame answers! Signed - just wanting to help athletic recruits

Hi, this is a good question and very helpful posts, but IMHO I think perhaps you didn’t get any responses because you didn’t mention a sport - so people (like me) searching for discussions of, e.g., rowing, would not find this (as I didn’t, until I just looked you up!). Also, you posted it in the cafe, instead of the Athletic Recruits section. Anyway, thanks for your very helpful reply to my new thread - I will respond more there.
Hi wykehamist yes this was my debut post to CC! I had no idea - takes a bit of surfing around until you figure out this huge amazing site. To those who want this kind of information go to Athletic recruits and from there into rowing - Home / College Discussion / College Admissions and Search / College Admissions / Specialty College Admissions Topics / Athletic recruits
