i got 64 for that

i agree with you apprentice.

i got 64 for that

i agree with you apprentice.

Oh fuzzy.....That was the one I was bubbling in at the last minute. I had the last five and uno minuto.....Time limits...Grr....

Hey--wasn't that psychology-psi passage weird? Let's cross fingers for some questions to argue over...LOL

According to Koestler's argument, the advances of modern physics make the claims of parapsychology appear
A) relevant to the experience of everyday life
B) less outlandish than they did originally
C) easier than before to verify scientifically
D) credible to untrained laypersons
E) too ordinary to merit much consideration

NO idea... guessed A

Lines 40 - 43 ("Their skepticism...vibes") contain accusations of

A) arrogance and malice
B) ignorance and incompetence
C) complacency and obtuseness
D) secrecy and deception
E) bias and elitism

D.. I think...

Already been discussed... it's the "curious" word in context

In line 66, "patent" most nearly means

A) spreading
B) proprietary
C) unobstructed
D) privileged
E) obvious

running out of time I guessed E

The author of Passage 2 would most likely react to Koestler's assessment of the status of parapsychology in Passage 1 with

A) mild amusement
B) scientific detachment
C) cool indifference
D) muted outrage
E) general agreement

I guessed E...

god I bombed this passage

Unfortunately, Stella was typically so ---- that she was often excluded from events where ----- was of paramount importance.

A) diligent .. etiquette
B) obstreperous... propriety (didnt know both words, but it's my guess)
C) duplicitous..uindiscretion
D) modest...decorum
E) odious...flagrancy

The answer was B I think....

13) B
15) D
17) E
21) E

In 13, the end of Koestler's argument says specifically supporting B.

Nope--I think you did pretty well Jrcho88. You got pretty much what I got except for the first one. For 13 I got (B). Koestler was making references to "outlandish" theories in physics--negative time, etc. and that today, people accept it. He also made parallels from that to psychic powers. Just my guess!

i agree with billym

thanks so much jurcho88 for posting. we appreciate it.

Yeah--thanks a plethora (LOL)!

Thanks a lot dude!
sj

Absolutely no problem people. I get so much out of CC forums. It's about time I contribute

Yeah--I've been skulking around, but my browser has been acting really weird. This is the first time I've been able to post!

wait
D? what are u talkin about?

Wow.. this thread is dominating over every other post, including the official SAT I posts

oo that
yea it was d

the modest thing and decorum?

The mediums required darkness, and it could always be stated that the negative vibes affected the study. (D) secrecy and deception.

Decorum = Appropriateness of behavior or conduct

I dont think that makes sense.

No idea at all. Guessed on it, using odious. But I have no beepin idea. Interesting to see how it's going to turn out.

billyum i agree with u on all the things about the parapsych
hope were right
but im pretty sure

have we covered all psych questions?

How did you guys manage to finish the first Section?

Time ran out for me with 6 questions left.

I admit, however, that I came back (during a math section) and finished 2 of the questions

yeah i sure hope so. i can't afford to lose any more after making such a stupid mistake in the math section.
