Official Wellesley Class of 2014 Decisions Thread

I wish the post office opens on Sundays…

congrats everyone.

i live in San Fran, and if they sent it to postal on Friday…I think I will get it by Tuesday latest…

I live in the Midwest, no mail from Wellesley yet.

Maine seems so close to little, ol’ Wellesley, MA but no mail yet…

I think the odds are good that I’ll have it in Michigan tomorrow… I hope…

At least I know what’s coming (thank you, EE!), but I can completely commiserate with those who still don’t know. Best of luck, everyone.

I’m so scared right now… My number 1 choice is Wellesley, and I don’t know what I’ll do if I see a tiny envelope in my mail tmrw(Rather than the big acceptance envelope)…
But I’mjustwondering, I see a lot of waitlistees (don’t lose hope!!!) can you post some info on your SAT score, GPA, ECs, and whether you are an international student or not?

Thanks. Good luck to everybody

The UPS truck just drove over to my house and i got my envelope! I was pretty surprised my letter arrived today - seeing as I live halfway across the world from Wellesley! It’s a big envelope - not very thick - nice folder inside with the letter and some documents regarding finances and stuff like that. There is also this purple “Wellesley Class of 2014” card like thing in the folder - do you guys know what it is? I initially thought it was a sticker, so i tried to peel it, but I soon realized it wasn’t one but the edges are all messed up now. Am i supposed to put it on the fridge or something?

To those of you who have been waitlisted - good luck!! I really hope you guys get in because you all seem to be really passionate about wellesley! I’m not sure how you can improve your chances but maybe try submitting new info? Perhaps writing an email to remind the admissions committee that Wellesley is your first choice would help? good luck!

I’m from Medford, MA, about thirty minutes from Wellesley and I was waitlisted Saturday after an EE of possibly. Just thought I’d share some stuff about me for anyone who’s waiting and got the same EE decision as I did.

GPA: 4.2 weighted
Rank: 5/306
Extracurriculars: track, school newspaper, class secretary, KEY club president, french club vice president, national honor society, yearbook, senior dance company at my dance school (tap and jazz).
SATs: 1960 (definitely my weakness)
Intended major: neuroscience
Recs: one from a chem teacher of two years (he writes great ones) and one from my ex pre calculus teacher who is also KEY club advisor (wellesley graduate)
Essay: wrote about my goal of becoming a neurologist and working with epileptic children since i go to a neurologist for seizures and talked about dealing with that, etc
Hooks: first generation (parents didn’t even graduate high school), and english is my second language (i went to school speaking only portuguese)
Interview: went really well

pumpkinpie - that’s a magnet! put it on your fridge  congrats!

It’s from UPS? I thought they were sending it by USPS!!! So UPS operates on Sundays…oh god…I didn’t get mine yet even though I live in the Northeast…

oh it must be torture for all of you guys, waiting for the letters! If US mail is any better than Dutch mail, it should be there pretty soon though!

And how cool that we get a magnet! I shall put it on my fridge immediately (and let the
“Ich Bin Ein Berliner… pastry!” magnet magically disappear, haha).

And btw, I made a mistake in my stats post, I actually go to a public school, not a private school (not that that is significant, but it bothered me :p).

Good luck everyone, once again! :D

@Welles10 - thanks! I was utterly confused as to what it was, but now it’s proudly being displayed on my fridge door! It’s actually right next to the handle so every time the someone opens the fridge, they see the magnet :)

@autumnfrost - I’m not sure if they have different postal services for domestic/international applicants. I was expecting it to arrive by regular mail sometime later this week, so I was pretty surprised to see the truck pull up this morning. I talked to my friend about it and she said her college acceptance letters from other schools also came from UPS. Hmm… I honestly have no idea…

@GuiltyBystander - yay for magnets! I actually don’t have any magnets on my fridge (which is weird because i get a lot of magnet souvenirs but I don’t know where they end up…) so there’s just this one splotch of purple on my fridge! I dragged my parents to the fridge just to show them the magnet LOL.

Oh, and I was googling/researching more about Wellesley when I stumbled across this blog (I think it’s linked from the admission’s page). It may be useful if you’ve been waitlisted [The Real Women of Wellesley - Laila](http://wellesleyadmission.typepad.com/laila/)

@autumnfrost - domestic mail is sent USPS.

I would guess they send international mail through UPS because it’s faster and allows tracking in case things get lost.

did anyone hear back today

So domestic mail is USPS for sure?

I live in SE Pennsylvania and I just got my acceptance folder in the mail!

Just got acceptance in GA; D was a “possible,” for what it’s worth.

^ Congratulations!

Good luck kiterunner18!! pozzol.

I heard back today in the DC area! Accepted!
