Waitlisted as well. I didn't do EE, but I kind of saw it coming after being waitlisted at Smith.

For those waitlisted who want to hang in there, this was written by oldfort on another thread and I think it seems to be good advice, although I'm not sure why oldfort is suggesting to wait so long:

I would wait for a week or two, then ask the GC to contact those schools to find out why he was waitlisted. Determine which one he has the highest probability of getting in, then zero in on that one by letting the school know your son would absolutely go if admitted. You could also get your GC to say that on your behalf. Of course, if it's to happen, your son would have to go or the GC's reputation would be on the line. Our GC did that for our D1, but she got our commitment before she let the adcom know. You should also put another packet together to be send to all the waitlisted schools - 1) letter of interest, 2) latest transcript (hopefully it's better than before), 3) another recommendation letter from GC, 4) a rec letter from one of his best senior year teacher. If you were in a position to pay full fare, YOU may want to let the schools know.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

D waitlisted (did not do EE)...99.99% sure that she's not going to stay on the waitlist.

Rejected, but I got an "Unlikely" EE, so no shock there. ;)

what's EE???

^Early Evaluation

Waitlisted... I'm gonna try VERY hard to get in

I didn't even get waitlisted... cold rejected.
Wells, here I come...

WOOOOO ACCEPTED!
I think my parents may be more excited than me, which is saying a lot haha
I can't wait to meet everyone else who was accepted, hopefully at the spring open campus!

Waitlisted after a 'possible' EE and pretty much devastated but I saw it coming. I really want to go to Wellesley...

I got in--I had a "likely" from EE, but it's definitely nice to have been officially accepted!

rpo: That really sucks. :[ I can't believe you've been waitlisted! You definitely deserve to go to Wellesley. Good luck, though--with Wellesley and your other schools.

Accepted! :)

Yays!

alli -- Thanks. I know, it really does suck. I thought that I would get in so when I got the 'possible' I called the admissions woman that had come to our school and she looked at my file and basically said she didn't know why I got a possible b/c everything looked good but would put an email I sent her about my countinued interest in my file for second review...guess that didn't work either. It's just so dissappointing I don't know what else I could have done. I am thinking I will stay on the waitlist, although I did get into Grinnell College and Northwestern (Medill) among others. idk...

rpo: College admission people are so weird. Seriously, I have no idea what goes through their heads. You got into other good schools, though--Grinnell is awesome! I was seriously considering it for a while, but didn't end up applying.

I'm still shocked you didn't get in. That is SO weird. I mean, not to be a terrible ***** but I would've thought you'd get in before Maddie did. I dunno. Maybe applying ED helped her out.

Walked to my mailbox and picked up my Barnard and Wellesley tiny envelopes today. I was waitlisted, but I was only a possible EE, so I pretty much saw it coming. I'm not too disappointed--I only got one straight rejection out of the twelve schools I applied to--but I am going to stay on the list, as I really like Wellesley, and I'll probably write them as some new stuff has come up since I submitted my application.

Good luck to all admits, and to those denied/my fellow waitlistees... it'll all work out in the end.

kokakola - did you get waitlisted at Barnard too?

Well, I got accepted (after a likely EE) but there's no way I can afford it with the finaid offer they gave me. It's funny, they calculated our expected family contribution to be $5,000 higher than the other college I got in to. We probably can't even afford the lower number since my dad got laid off.
Oh well, here's hoping my appeal comes up with some better numbers.

^
did anyone not get their admission decision? I live in Boston MA, thrity minutes away from Wellesley and I still have not received my decision. Should I be getting concerned?

englishivy--Indeed. I was expecting a rejection, so I was actually alright with it, but I thought I really had a chance at Wellesley despite the possible :

Can anyone else comment on their FA offers? Good/bad? I was accepted online but without a good FA package, it'll be really hard for me to go |:
