If my mid-year report comes out at the end of January (like around the 30th?), will Wellesley look at my mid-year report? Or will they only look at the report card grades?

Also, how much weight does the report card have? I have a bad comment on my report card that the teacher put on everyone’s progress report. I want to know how much that’s going to hurt me…

I doubt it could hurt you that much, but that sounds like something you should bring up to your guidance counselor. A teacher can’t just write terrible comments on everyone’s report cards.

I got the email explaining Early Evaluation today. Apparently, if you get a “possible” you have a 20% chance of being accepted in March. I also received my Wellesley account a few days ago.

I got the Early Evaluation email today, too! Apparently we will find out our preliminary decision on February 22 at 5PM EST (marking my calendar right now). I’m so excited! :D

I did bring it up with my guidance counselor and the only thing I can do is ask my teacher to remove the comment. Teachers generally can put down comments on our progress reports of whatever they want because in the end, they don’t show up on the transcript and these grades are not officially on the transcript. But, thanks!

Ahh so soon :o @literati94 nope. I don’t have undergrad legacy anywhere in the U.S.
thanks for the responses everyone. What is everyone studying?

@UFOninja I also put down English and East Asian Studies:) I want to study Nonfiction Creative Writing. Also am a first generation (Asian American).

Is anyone planning on visiting Wellesley if you get a “likely” letter? Is seems that one advantage to getting word early is that you might be able to squeeze in an overnight visit before the April crush.

I’m either going to visit in March if I get a ‘likely’ or wait to see my financial aid when final decisions are mailed. Although, I’d really rather visit before final decisions so that if I’m in I can just submit my deposit and relax. :)

Does anyone know the weight of first semester grades in the application??? I am usually a straight A student but this semester has been really hard on my grades…some family issues came up…do you think I should mention this to admissions??

I’m so excited about the EE decisions that it’s to the point of obsession. I check the MyWellesley portal at least once a day wondering if they released the results early…lol.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Did you apply Common App? If so, did you put that you had special circumstances? I would probably mention it, but dont be too worried.
