OFFICIAL Wellesley Early Evaluation Waiting Thread! (Class of 2016!)

I’m torn between Scripps and Smith, myself.

Daughter also applied to Barnard, Williams, Amherst, Swarthmore, Pomona, Vassar, some UCs and Ivys.

CountMonteCristo, I must comment that I love your name. * ^ *

I applied to Carleton. All the other co-ed institutions I applied to were my safety schools, and they were only co-ed because I couldn’t find a good women’s safety school.

The single sex aspect was quite important to me throughout my college search.

Apart from Wellesley, I also applied to UChicago, Pomona, Swarthmore, Cornell, Northwestern, and Bryn Mawr. I like Wellesley, but UChicago and Pomona are my favourites. Would be really torn if I was fortunate enough to get into both of them!

Does anyone have any idea approximately how many % of EE applicants get a “likely”? In another post on another thread someone says about 50%, which is unbelievably high. Can someone please verify?

D also applied to Rice, Swarthmore, University of Rochester, Boston College, Brandeis, Harvard, Vandy and super safety Drexel (accepted with $$$ - won’t attend). We are from Texas.

Shootastar, my guess (based on an attempt to make sense of conflicting reports) is that about 35% get likely letters, and then 20% of the rest eventually are accepted, which would approach 50% for all EE applicants eventually being accepted.

I applied to Ahmerst, Swarthmore, Brandeis, Cornell, MIT and University of Utah (scholarship, so it’s a consideration) in addition to Wellesley. Also, I am pretty anxious you guys. Less than a week and we might know if we get in or not.

I’m nervous yet so excited. It’s kind of weird feeling because you can’t be 100% sure of the outcome… either I’ll be leaping for joy when I get my likely or staring in disbelief if I get a possibly or unlikely… I feel like it’s life or death!

In six days, I will basically know my future… I wasn’t aware it was possible to be this simultaneously excited and nervous.

Anyone else with this feeling? O:

I’m not feeling excited at all anymore, just nervous. Really, really, really nervous. Despite the air of confidence I’ve been putting on, I’m absolutely terrified that I’ll get an unlikely.

My highest level safety school more or less waitlisted me yesterday. As you can imagine, this has really put a damper on my confidence levels for Wellesley.

Hopefully I get a possibly, but it’s going to be an eternally long wait until I get to see next Wednesday, haha.

I haven’t heard back from any schools yet… Wellesley will be the first. It’s a weird feeling to know that in a few days I’ll know my destiny… I’ve dreamed of going to Wellesley for the past couple years and in a few days I’ll know whether or not that dream will become a reality. Even if I get a likely, I’ll still be on the edge until I get my FinAid package… I’m kind of in a sucky position (my parents make too much to qualify for financial aid but I can’t afford to go to Wellesley without significant aid)…

Ah, I’m beyond nervous. I’m bracing myself for an ‘unlikely’ since my stats are nowhere near anyone’s here. I’m trying not to get enamored by Wellesley so the blow isn’t too harsh.

@ StarbucksBarista

I’m in the same position as you- everything’s dependent on the financial aid package, but I’m not sure if my family makes the cut. But I’m worried about getting accepted somewhere first. I’m super excited to find out about Wellesley, but at the same time I’m terrified. I know that if I get a “possible” or “unlikely” I will be even more on edge for the next month and drive everyone around me insane.

I’m so nervous, yet excited at the same time! Other colleges that I’d applied to are still missing some of my materials:(. Is everyone going to check portal at 5pm EST on the dot?

Hey guys, sorry to jump in! I’m an RD applicant and keep checking the Wellesley threads oh-so-often. Anyway, even I’m starting to feel nervous for you guys! Just wanted to wish everyone ALL THE BEST! :D

I live in the west coast so I’ll be checking at 2 PM or possibly earlier considering I’ll be on mid-winter break. If I get in I’ll be visiting during Spring break! April 7-14th. Anyone else?

Any chance they’ll release decisions early?..

I was wondering if they have special visits for students who will receive likely letters? definitely visiting if I get a likely :)
