Hello everyone!

I'm Alyssa. I am currently a freshman at Endicott College in Massachusetts. I wanted to start this thread in order for transfer students to have a place to talk, vent, post responses, etc. I don't feel comfortable posting my stats right now but I will say that Wesleyan is a bit of a reach for me.
I also applied to five other schools for transfer (three of which are also major reaches):
- Brown (reach)
- NYU (reach)
- Amherst (reach)
- Emerson (not as much of a reach)
- Brandeis (not as much of a reach)

I haven't heard back from anywhere yet and I'm dying to know. I'm keeping my fingers crossed but waiting is driving me crazy.

Hey, good luck! I’m in a similar situation. I’m currently a student in Florida looking to transfer. I applied to Oberlin, Skidmore, Bard, and Wesleyan and so far Bard is the only one who has gotten back to me (accepted!). Wesleyan might have been a reach as my stats are pretty average for the school and nothing outstanding for their standards, but we can still hope. Good luck, hopefully you’ll hear some great news in May.

:)

Boston University currently, but I have applied to Brown, Vassar, Amherst, and Wesleyan for Fall 2012 as a transfer.

I heard that Wes enrolled ~75 more freshmen than anticipated, so transferring in as a sophomore may be rather difficult. Best of luck to you all!

Hey guys! I didn’t see that people replied to this, sorry for not responding back sooner. Good luck to everyone and I guess we’ll hear what’s happening this Friday, eh? (:

NYU kid here…fingers crossed…LordSnorlax’s words are disheartening but very true…
Good luck on Friday everyone!

Ah we’re so close!

Psychology major at Georgia Tech (rising sophomore) with 3.8 from first semester and 3.9 after second semester. 2070 SAT; good college ECs but hardly any high school activities (my grades from my first two years of high school are also sort of pathetic. I demonstrate an upward trend). My principal Common App essay was good, but it’s non-specific to Wesleyan (it simply outlines my reasons for transferring).
I’m getting a little desperate at this point; I’ve already received two letters of rejection. I doubt I stand a chance amongst this year’s transfer applicant pool.

Asian Studies Major at a large school in the Midwest here, with a 4.0 from first two quarters, looking at a 4.0 this upcoming quarter as well. 34 ACT, and I think I wrote good essays. Ugh, this wait is killing me!

the decisions were up a bit earlier than expected

Waitlisted. I was expecting a rejection, so this is great news for me.

Waitlisted … better than rejection but who knows

Waitlisted also. So much for a small number of waitlist.

I was accepted. I can’t recite my stats off the top of my head, but I’m pretty sure my writing and personality is what helped (“good fit” scenario). I’m currently deciding between Wes, Vassar and Tufts.

For those who are interested, I currently go to a UC.

Rejected. Congrats to those accepted (and waitlisted)!

Accepted.
For those of you waitlisted, I just declined the offer of admission so there is one more slot for you!
I’m going to Columbia, Dartmouth, or Amherst instead. Best of Luck!

I got in, but I’m still waiting to hear from Johns Hopkins as well…I’m not sure how they compare in terms of transfer rates…I was waitlisted at Dartmouth so that would also possibly be on the table if I were to get in off the waitlist

Anyone else apply to Hopkins?

Oh and congratulations to everyone, no matter what! college is a bunch of hoohaaa anyways but out of practicality I guess it matters to do your best to come out of the system with some shiny, appealing degree…

Accepted! Not sure if I will attend.

I got waitlisted :/. Hopefully a good amount of kids will turn down Wes so us waitlisted guys can have our chance. but for now I need to figure out whether to go to Bard or Skidmore by Tuesday. stressin out yo
