Official Writting Discussion Thread November

@feedback411 i used the one with the semicolon… what about you

@ jkang909 I figured that all the semicolons ones were wrong since I remember that none of them had a complete sentence after it, but I could very well be wrong.

What do you guys think a 6 paragraph essay with 3 examples and a decent thesis and conclusion would be? It wasn’t my best work by far, but the topic was odd to me. I filled both pages. Am I bound to receive at least a 10? My examples were Bernie Madoff, Steve Jobs, and Mother Teresa. I forgot to include my forth example, Bill Clinton.

Also, what was the experimental writing section? If someone could tell me the improving paragraph one, then I’d be able to distinguish. I had an experimental writing, but I’m not sure which of the two was experimental. I did so well on one, but my focus was somewhere else on the other. "/

@Bhutan i remember the one with the semi colon … “;they were connected by…” or something similar to that

Did you guys get a no error for number 12 long writing? This was the third one that was not about bison and Chinese libraries.

What were the answers for the paragraph improvment ?

Do you guys remember the building question? The two I was stuck between were: much of which and most of them. The end of the sentence was separated by a comma, so I chose much of which because I thought most of them created a comma splice.

haphazard, your answer was correct. Most of them would create a comma splice.

For the identifying sentence error question about planting the tree, did you get A? I remember it was something like “After planting it, the tree”

on the planting the tree, can you give me more of the sentence? I think there was a problem with A ( did it need to be changed to after YOU plant it) or something like that?

Can someone pleeassee tell me which writing was experimental? I know one of the improving paragraphs was about air travel and the other section had a question that was like “where should this sentence go?”

The air travel with the blimp was real right??

Omg, on my essay (respect vs. familiarity) I wrote about how familiarity increases respect. I wrote about a personal experience (most people I know respect their parents above everyone) and I MEANT to write about the mentor relationship between Socrates and Aristotle. Unfortunately, I wrote about the relationship between Socrates and SOPHOCLES. So wrong. I thought I had a 10-12 essay too :(
