Congratulations on the acceptance, physicsnut1; it was well-deserved.

Great job!

Congratulations!! Glad to see all your hard work paid off : )

Why has Yale already released an acceptance? I thought that they were all released at the same time on a certain date?

questbridge people get theirs earlier

What is the Questbridge program?

Questbridge is a program for low-income families which is basically just a much more extensive version of the CommonApp (three essays, fourteen short answers). There are something like twenty-six “partner-colleges” who accept the QuestBridge application, and who review it in November, releasing results on December 1st.

P.S. Thanks again to everyone for their support! I can’t wait to hear how many of you awesome people got in SCEA!

So did you get other decisions as well?

I just know that I didn’t get Matched to Stanford (A bit like a deferral). But there’s always RD!

Congrats physicsnut1. I’m a huge fan of Questbridge, socioeconomic AA actually makes sense.

@physicsnut1 - Jealous. Yale’s my #1 by far, which sucks because I know you shouldn’t be obsessed with a school but I am. haha

Congrats though, you deserve it way more than I do!

This results thread has a 2 to 32 result to post ratio haha

^That’s because the applicants are hungry for decisions.

So this is pretty much a physicsnut1 appreciation thread lol.

Congrats, man!

Congratulations physicsnut1. Honestly, I cannot compete with your numbers. Hope my essays could do the trick. Good luck to us all who still need to wait 13+ days.

If Questbridge results are already made by Dec 1, doesn’t this imply the fate of the rest of us are also mostly decided? I mean… they wouldn’t go ahead and only accept the Questbridge people without considering them in the context of everybody else. I guess the reason they are able to get results sooner is because they automatically get a full ride. So I have a feeling that the last 14 days is spent on figuring out financial aid for those who got in.

^good logic, although it’s unnerving to know that somewhere in new haven, my app has been placed in the a/d/r pile…

^No I’m not entirely certain that could happen. If that were the case, why not release the admissions decisions earlier and the FA offers later? And the admissions and FA offices are different.
Plus remember that the deadline for interview reports is the 30th of November (or some time around that). So if many reports are submitted then, I assume that some discussion would take place post Dec 1st as well. Maybe a final review?

iceui2: QBridge applicants are considered simultaneously, yes but at an accelerated pace due to the matching system deadlines of QBridge. Just because a handful of priority applications (QBridge) have been adjudicated doesn’t mean that ALL of the SCEA apps have been so.

Lots of SCEA work is still underway at this moment.

Congrats!!
