Oh dear lord I fell in love...

...with the campus of columbia that is. How stupid would it be to prioritize my schools based on that? I mean, I literally felt like home. Probably the fact that I adore NYC came into play. I only saw the Asian library, and looked around, but oh god, the campus is amazing...so? what do you think?

I think that you should probaly apply to Columbia lol.

Dude, if you felt like home, then it'd make the transition so much easier for you. You don't want to go somewhere where you would feel out of place. Choose Columbia.

Of course I am going to apply. The issue here is the way I rank my choices..thanks for the responses, but do you think it is a factor that I should bear in mind?

My son's impression from walking onto the campus on his first visit was the reason he applied ED and attended--be thoughtful, but don't discount your gut reaction!

Well well, if it isn't Mr. IB ;) Glad to hear that you loved Columbia! I felt like I found my home too when I first visited. Intial attraction is a very strong pull, but my logical side compelled me to visit again before applying ED, and it confirmed my feelings. I wouldn't disregard your intial reaction, I might even call it intuition.

lol :D /adssadasd/

had the same reaction. now i am torn between columbia and nyu tisch.

sigh

and what a pointless comment vesal

Branderson, please leave your idiotic comments back in your world torn between Columbia and Tisch.

Compare your useful post with mine. I actually said something relevant to the OP, and didn't use it as an opportunity to tell the world (again) about your pathetic worries about Columbia and Tisch.

Please get a life, and stop hassling me.

You are an absolute pain the rear and need to adjust your testicle's droop imbalance since it is obvious they are imposing dire consequences on the stability and balance of the rest of your body and your ability to even remotely shut me down.

Wait...so basically you're asking if how much you like a school should impact your rankings?
I think you answered your own question. Obviously, rank based on what most appeals to you, not just the "prestige" of a school. And besides, Columbia is close enough to the top (almost HYPS) that liking it a lot more than those schools weighs more than the insignificantly small amount of extra prestige those schools have.

Apply 2 Columbia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't stress that enough

wait wait...the again don't apply....because you'll just reduce my chances of getting in....the more people who apply...the lower my chances....

BUt yeah Columbia to me has the second best campus after Stanford...

I had the exact same reaction as you did when I first stepped on to the campus. I just knew, instantly, that I FIT there, as cliched as it sounds. But, though that feeling is definitely important, you obviously have to take into consideration lots of other things about the school - the way academics are structured, the feel of the student body, and if you have any idea what you might be interested in majoring in, whether or not the program at any given school is good. All those things have to go into your decision, but you should in no way discount or ignore the feeling you got when you visited the campus.

So let me get this straight, you are either making assumption there is a "droop" in my testicles or you know from observation. And even if you such a ludicrous statement is true what the hell would it have to do with being able to, in your terms, "shut you down"

Also, I almost doubt you got into Columbia. Your use of run-ons is quite apparent. I was unaware the type of student you used those sort of things is what they were looking for. Perhaps I should dumb down my writing skills to aide my chances.

Also, look closer, I did say something relevant to the OP's comment. I am expressing how I shared the same reaction to Columbia. In less words, I too fell in love with Columbia upon visiting. You see this tool we are using, called the internet allows individuals to connect, relate and interact with one another.

First of all, please find my run-on sentences.

Secondly, I have quoted a section of almost every sentence you wrote.

"You are either making AN assumption THAT there..."

"And even if (you???) such a ludicruous statement"

Comma after "true" and period after "down".

You "almost" doubt? Whatever, dude. Yeah, okay, I didn't get in. Grow up.

"I was unaware THAT the type of student WHO used THAT sort of THING is what they ARE looking for"

You've also have rogue commas throughout your last paragraph which should be moved elsewhere where they are actually missing. And it's "aid" not "aide". Other stupid lexical choices are evident throughout your post.

I will die from laughter if you manage to get accepted.

Please make me die happy.

Typo's are different than errors in usage you baby. And your "You are an absolute pain the rear and need to adjust your testicle's droop imbalance since it is obvious they are imposing dire consequences on the stability and balance of the rest of your body and your ability to even remotely shut me down." statement doesn't make sense.
Because you are talking about one imbalance (as indicated by imbalance) you can not say "they are imposing". That just doesn't make any sense.

for the love of Jobu, both of you stop or take it to PMs. Nobody wants to read this tripe. This isn't a dick-measuring contest. Let it freaking slide.

Denz, there's only so much immaturity I can handle before I have to unleash some of my own.... haha

Look at how he pollutes other threads by randomly attacking me.

so back to the love of Columbia..........

You know what's weird?

I've never been to Columbia's campus. I've totally relied on Columbia being photogenic... haha

wow, i didnt even realize that thing was happening...but hey, it's understandable that people are gonna start debating on one of my threads..:p

ok, s snack, i meant my rankings of the schools in that which schools are my top choices etc..
