ok you know that box for letter of recommendation forms where it says something like: "You will have the right to access your recommendation after you matriculate unless you waive your right to access it below."

and then it has a "Yes, I waive my right" and "No, I do not waive my right"

well I forgot to check either yes or no... i checked neither but I did sign... i was going to ask my counselor to check whatever box he liked but i gave him the form and forgot to tell him... when i remembered the next day and asked if he checked it off he said "no, and it's already been sent."

this has been bugging me lately... is this something i should worry about? should i call up their offices and tell them or is it really not that big of a deal and they will just check a box for me?

It's not a huge deal. By waiving your right the college basically knows that the teacher could write something good or bad about you and you'd never know. By not waiving your right it means that you eventually want to see what your teachers said about you.

If it's really bothering you, you could always call or email the college and tell them what happened.

not likely. Especially if they do an interview as well, other things are often weighted higher than a recommendation, and not checking that box may simply reduce the weight the college places on your counselor's recommendation.
I wouldn't worry about it now! Your counselor has already written his recommendation with the box unchecked, so telling the school they can check "no" doesn't really change the recommendation he gave you! Just relax and keep excelling!
