So I decided to write my college essay on my art, and then I happened across this essay : http://admissions.tufts.edu/?pid=156, which had a topic that was very similar to my idea.

Then I wrote it. Then I sent it in.

And now I'm realizing that they sound VERY very very similar. I didn't copy it on purpose or anything but now I'm terrified- I think some of her ideas got into my subconscious or something. Can anyone read my essay and tell me if they're going to reject me for plagiarism?

arghhhhhhhhhhhhh.

sorry are you from 08' cause I'm just wary of people copying me (I know how easy it is to do by accident haha)

I reread it and it isn't THAT bad, though maybe a little suspicious. Things that could cause problems:
I talk about my quirks (pretty standard I guess), how I am not right or left brained (this is completely true and I was planning on mentioning it anyway- I thought I was so unique. I have trouble deciding whether I am an English/History or Math/Science person), and how I'm a contradiction (this worries me... did I think of this myself?)

I sent it to BC and though I'm applying there I will NOT send it to Tufts. I'm going to have to think of something more original.

I am an 08er.However, I sent my applications in already. I can still read it if you'd like.

thank you so much but I just had a friend read and compare and she said it isn't anything to worry about.

Great to hear. Good luck to you.
