I made a typo in my "why northwestern" essay. i spelled one word wrong. how bad is this?

I found a typo in my Why Northwestern essay (it’s really bad - it was probably the last thing I did before scrambling for the ‘submit’ button and the word is very much not the same word!) and one in my resume (very minor, left out a letter)…but I still got in ED. So.

They don’t expect perfection, and a single typo is hardly noticeable. I doubt it would even register to a reader much, and if it did, as long as you had clearly edited and proofread otherwise, it would just be “one of those things”.

thank you, perididdle!

Nobody scrutinizes the essays. They read them very quickly to get a sense of originality and writing ability. Most times a typo goes unnoticed in much the same way you could miss it despite checking your essay for it a thousand times.
