Oh, precalc...

I hate pre-calc. It doesn't really follow algebra 2 that much. It's all about trig pretty much.

I hope AP Calc AB isn't too hard.

yeah i still dont know the unit circle i hate it!

I feel you, bro, I'm in precal too and it's boring, notsomuch difficult IMO since it's all review of AlgebraII/trig.

wait until you get to calc. Oh, fun with integrals, evaluating, writing, rewriting and solving from there, substitution by parts, logarythmic differentiation, riemann sums, derivatives...

Its not as bad as it sounds. If you can manage Precalc, Calculus is a breeze!

here it's geometry > alg 2 > precalc > calc. I've never done trig before so it's pretty confusing

Here its Alg1, Geom, Alg2, Precalc, Calc

Trig is taught in both Alg2 and Precalc

AP Calc AB better be easy.haha.

I heard AP Calc BC literally goes twice as fast as Calc AB.

i think precalc is way easier than the math i took last year. i took math b (a new york thing lol) and it was absolutely miserable. now, i kind of appreciate precalc haha

Precalc kind of irks me.

Here it is
Alg1
Geom
Alg2
Geom
Trig
Pre-calc
You can only get to Pre-cal if you were selected to take Alg 2 in 8th grade

I have a test tomorrow and I am already freaking out((

I have a test on friday and I am already freaking out((

I'm the person who said on the previous page that I'm failing Algebra 2. I'm actually not technically failing; I have a low C, almost a D.

I am required to take Precalculus next year. There aren't any other math courses offered to you at my school after taking Algebra 2, and I need the math credits to graduate. Not to mention, I definitely want to major in Economics and I'm pretty sure that's a major that requires a grasp of Calculus. At my school though, Precalculus sounds like a review of Algebra 2. Actually, the 2 courses are apparently on the same unit right now (with Precalculus being slightly more advanced and in-depth of course). If Precalculus really is a review, maybe I'll improve next year with the extra practice?

I don't know what to do, I'm pretty sure I'm going to get my first C and I can't keep going like this. Maybe it's a time for a tutor?

Precalculus (at least at my school) is really just an extension of Algebra II. The topics are the same for the most part but are more detailed and more extensively studied. I think that if you work at it your Precalculus grade will be higher than your Algebra II grade.

If you're not happy with a C though and see little hope of improving, perhaps a tutor is indeed a good idea.

See, everyone keeps saying that Pre-calc and Algebra II are similar...but I just don't see it...I don't feel like I've used many Algebra II concepts in Pre-calc this year...but that may be just because my teacher is horrible and hates us and wants us all to fail miserably and destroy our dreams of college...

Yeah, maybe that's it...

I took Algebra 1a in 8th grade, and algebra 1b in 9th grade. Took geometry in tenth grade, algebra 2 now, functions/statistics/trug next year. I heard its a great cushion between algebra and precalc...i'm not taking precalc though so it really dosn't matter :D

Lucky. I took Algebra 1 all in one year, then moved on to Geometry, Algebra II, and now PreCalc. Other students did what you did, took Algebra 1 in two years and then Geo. They still have four math credits... .___. It sucks that I have to take PreCalc, because my school has a long succession of horrid math teachers...and the worst is the lady that teaches my PreCalc class. No other PreCalc teachers either. ;-;

currently studying for a precalc test...urgh.
if you think trig identities are hard, watch out for the matrices/determinants unit. those problems can get very long and complicated.

for my school precal the first semester was a some what of a review but now its tottally nothing like algebra 2

mmm if u need precal/alg help, u can search under youtube, for patrickJMT, or Khanacademy. i think they'll have some great videos for those~~
heck i even use them for calculus =P
