Oh Sh**! What the hell did I just do!!?

I can't freaking believe what I just did!
How the heck could I be so freaking careless! :(

I'm applying RD to Oberlin, Hamilton, Brandeis, Middlebury and I messed my score report BIG TIME!
I gave the ACT (29) and the SAT (1850,1950) and SAT II (700 Bio, 740 Chem, 650 Phy)
I send my ACT scores and two subject scores <bio and="" chem=""> to all the colleges <which i="" intended="" to="" do="">
But I also send the freaking SAT scores and the Phy Subject test score! And uhm, sending a 1850 to any of the above colleges is nothing short of crazy!
What do I do?
How will the colleges view my application now, especially now that I've not mentioned the SAT scores and the Phy Subject test on my CommonApp!</which></bio>

Its not exactly like an 1850 is a terrible score. It converts to a 27-28. And 650 physics again isn’t desirable but still isn’t absolutely terrible. Test wise I doubt it hurts your application much, and as a plus ad coms aren’t going to be wondering what your hiding under your SAT score reports.

A 29 on the ACT is about a 1950 on the SAT anyway. Colleges will see that you improved to whatever level you are at now. Don’t stress too much. As for the 650 physics, are you going into a physics related field? Also, official score reports count more than the commonapp.

I think if the SAT IIs are not required then whatever you send in will only be considered if it benefits you.

Thanks for the responses.
Yep, my second prospective major is Physics.
I’ve always got straight A’s in Physics in school and I love the subject.
But in the test, I somehow lost track of time and skipped 20 questions :frowning:
I dunno what to do?
Hamilton and Oberlin were my top choices. A 1850 will definitely ruin me.

Hamilton College
Test Scores – 25th / 75th Percentile
SAT Critical Reading: 660 / 740
SAT Math: 650 / 730
ACT Composite: 29 / 32

Oberlin College
Test Scores – 25th / 75th Percentile
SAT Critical Reading: 640 / 740
SAT Math: 620 / 710
SAT Writing: 640 / 730
ACT Composite: 27 / 32

If you fall within those ranges you should be okay.

Don’t panic, you are still in the game! good luck!

Okay, so Oberlin ‘suggests’ taking 2 subject tests. Not a compulsary part of the application.
Will they consider only my best 2 subject tests and leave out Physics?
Also, colleges traditionally view the SAT more importantly than the ACT. So, will my 1850 overpower my 29?
God, I’m so messed!

You’re over thinking this. Colleges will see that you did well on Biology and Chemistry on the SAT IIs, so the Physics score won’t affect you too much.

Furthermore use your own logic, if colleges say the SAT is worth more, than the 1950 will overpower both the 29 ACT AND the 1850 SAT. So you’re gonna be fine as long as the rest of your application is in order.

SMRSMR, I really appreciate the time you’re putting in to answer my questions.
I got another one for you
I got a 580 on Writing both the times I gave the SAT.
But I got 30 on the English section of the ACT.
How will the colleges view this?

No problem, I can tell a lot of people here are stressed. Well 580 writing on the SAT isn’t that great however a 30 on the ACT is. If the most recent test you have taken is the ACT, then it should be to your advantage as you improved. Either way, they should balance each other out and your overall writing ability will be deduced accordingly, pretty solid I would say as a 580 on SAT translates to a 26 on ACT, so your range will be from 26-30; on the other hand a 30 on the ACT translates to around a 670 on the SAT. So your range will be 580-670. Furthermore if you really want to impress colleges with your writing, write a killer essay! And stop stressing so much, you’ll be fine as long as your application is well rounded.

SMRSMR, someday I will meet you and give you a hug
Thank you.
I just saw your posts and figured that you’re in GW right now! That’s a great school and I wish I could have applied. Its just REALLY expensive.
Anyway, I gave the SAT in my Junior year and the ACT in October of my senior year.
So, yeah.
I’ve submitted my applications.I’ve written the essays. Now, I’ll just focus on my senior year exams and hope for the best.
Thank you, once again! :)

Ha you’re very welcome, but I am not in college right now! What made you think that, you mean George Washington University by GW correct? I just submitted my common app today. I am willing to help because I can empathize with all the high schoolers who are stressing out these few days.
