i have a near perfect SAT I score, one perfect SAT II score, one acceptable SAT II score, and one lower-than-hell SAT II score. how much will that awful score affect my chances for top notch schools if i dont retake it? how much will it affect me if i do retake it and (hopefully) do a lot better?

oh, that score just happened to come in a subject closely related to my intended major. ahhh!

One would have to ask how low this score is, and query the difficulty of competition to the colleges at which you are applying. I earned a 580 on Math II, but I still broached the Ivy League.

540ish or so in the bio after freshman year ( I really didn't consider that I should probably have AP bio under my belt before I attempt a subject test lol) Anyway, if my current EA decisions are any help, colleges should look over one or so bad scores if you have weighty enough others.

There are only a select few schools that look at 3 subject tests. Most only want 2 so since you have 2 good ones the bad one won't technically be "considered" for most schools. To my knowledge the only ivies that want 3 subject tests are harvard, princeton, and maybe yale. Even so although a 640 isn't very good it's not horrendous. If you are applying to schools that want 3 subject tests you should probably retake it or take a different subject test. Otherwise for schools that only want 2 subject tests you should be fine.

Now that is one terribly awful score. JK. At least you look human. That can't be a bad thing in an adcoms. eyes, especially Ivys. Your scores might be refreshing.
