oh transfer students...

it seems like a greater proportation of transfer students that i've met than freshmen admits are jerks. they act like they are the s*** when they are not.

not to say that all transfer students are like that, but definitely I've met more this year like so compared to non transfer students.

and please, don't try telling others what to major or not to major in acting like he knows everything, and complaining classes are so stressful when they didn't have to suffer through the lower division courses. and for some freshmen admits, not get admitted because of low marks in lower division classes while transfer students just bypass all those.

of course, the negative behavior i've described are not representative of all transfer students. but for those that are, they can go _____

and fyi, i became nocturnal this week.

I feel your pain.

i thought upper division courses were supposed to be harder than lower division?

unlimitedx,

I met just as many freshman admit jerks. They were always bandying about the fact that they took lower div classes. ;)

I just can't believe that, UCLAri, because I've never heard of anybody bandying anything ever. Who bandies nowadays?

slick, UCLAri. but freshmen do work harder to go through the lower divs unlike transfer students who bypass most of them ;)

can someone answer pacificfleet1's question? :P

Some impacted majors require that you do well in lower division courses for you to be eligible to get into the major. The curves in lower division courses that are requried by several majors always have hard curve. Transfer students simply bypass these weeder courses during their first two years at a jc. So what ends up happening is that stronger freshmen admits end up NOT getting into his major of choice because of the tough curves, whereas transfer students simply take the "same" courses at a jc and get admitted at the junior level.

Now some upper division courses may be harder, but by that point most of the weaker students will have been eliminated so there generally less need for the tough curve used in lower division courses.

Granted, I'd say some of those students who earned a B/C in several of those classes would probably do better in upper division compared to some (not all) transfer students who didn't have to go through those courses.
