I am very interested in the EAP program at Ohio State University.
However, I am a resident of Michigan. Their website didn't say anything about favoring in-state applicants, but does this happen? Is there a quota or something for out of state applicants?

I just returned from OSU for my daughter’s freshman orientation. We are Michigan residents. 80% of incoming class is from Ohio. However, there were many at orientation from many states and international- 4 from Michigan. I believe there is some consideration for admitting out of state students but the out of state tuition is about 2.5 times the in state tuition. In state tuitio is just below $9K and out of state tuition is almost $22K. However, they have a $7.3 K scholarship for students with 28 ACT and good grades. The school is awesome - much better than U of M. My daugher is extremely excited about OSU. What is EAP?

dee37,
Just FYI. In a past they accepted only NMF’s. If you were not semifinalists, could not apply, got to be finalist to get accepted. Ohio state also has another selective (non-combined) program with the focus of preparing for Graduate (mostly Med. School) acceptance. Good luck!

Not all state schools give preference to in-state. There are fiew in Ohio that do not. U of M does not have combined program. However, Michigan State does with huge preference to Michigan residents (only 2 spots for OOS).

yes, I am a natl. merit (semi)finalist. and unfortunately, Michigan State cancelled its BA/MD program last year.
hopefully I have a good chance for EAP!

Thanks, MD2B2012. I didn’t know about the program at Cincinnati or Toledo, but I’ll look into them.
Hopefully out-of-staters still have a good chance for EAP.
