<p>“As you think about the next four years, what are you looking forward to that might surprise your friends or family members?”</p>

<p>We’re looking for responses that might tell us something about you that we wouldn’t pick up from the rest of the application.</p>
<p>You aren’t expected to reveal any deep, dark secrets: we’re primarily interested in what excites you about the prospect of going to college; visiting a foreign country? Taking an unusual course? Joining a certain club?</p>
<p>Don’t dwell on the “surprise” element; just think about the opportunities that are ahead.</p>
