Hi, I have a 4.2 weighted GPA and a 32 ACT, am in National Honor Society as well as other honor societies, and have several other strong (in my opinion) extracurriculars. How much scholarship money would I be looking at for OSU as an out of state applicant? I am definitely applying for the Morrill Scholarship, which I am excited about because I am a Student Ambassador at my school and feel as though I could bring a lot to OSU with my leadership potential. Thanks!
You have the stats for some scholarships, go to the OSU site and they are listed along with their requirements. Use it as a guide as they are not guaranteed & you need to apply by Nov 1st
Those stats are pretty much identical to my son who is an OOS freshman at OSU this fall. He received National Buckeye ($12,500) and Provost ($2,500) scholarships ($15,000 total).
Can student apply to National Buckeye and Morrill Scholarship or can only apply to one or the other?
is Morrill Scholarship for all 4 years or just freshman year?
Is volunteering at food drive be added to Morrill Scholarship essay?
As far as I know, the National Buckeye does not have a separate application. My son was awarded National Buckeye and Maximus (total $16.5K) based on his regular app. He later received the Eminence which does require a separate app and is full cost of attendance (like Morrill), so the National Buckeye and Maximus went away. Good luck!
Clarification, not all Morrill scholarships are full cost of attendance. There are 3 different levels. So I don’t know if you can stack others on top.
I’ve received the Morrill scholarship. To be clear, you don’t need to apply to get the National Buckeye scholarship, it’s given based on your SAT/ACT scores whereas you actually have to write an essay for the Morrill scholarship. If you get both, you can use only either of these.
