Does anyone have any info about OSU's school of music or vocal performance program?

It’s a giant school, so even their music program is larger than you’d find at many other places. The VP program is pretty much known to “be there”- not great and not terrible, it just “is”. Check out the faculty carefully though as I know for a fact that some are looking for positions elsewhere.

I have heard numerous excellent singers coming out of the Ohio State University graduate program. The faculty is well respected, and singers do well there.

^The above is typical of Big Ten schools, with the exceptions of the musical “Big Three” (Northwestern, Indiana and Michigan). It’s not that uncommon for the bigger public university-based schools of music to have really great grad programs and so-so undergrad programs.

For undergrad voice, isn’t it about finding a good teacher to develop (not hurt) your voice and getting the “basics” required for grad school? Would OSU provide this? Do you have any voice teachers that you would recommend for soprano D?
