I’m stuck between biology at Ohio State and biology at UT Austin right now (my goal is to get into med school by the way). OSU is coming out to be $37k and UT Austin is coming out to be $59k both OOS. I know that makes OSU the obvious choice but for some reason my heart is set on UT Austin, but I don’t know how to describe it (if you know what I mean). Can anyone offer any thoughts on the advantages and disadvantages of each school and what I should ultimately take? Thanks

We’d be better able to help you if you told us why you like UT Austin and how you’d pay for it
The recommendation otherwise would be tOSU.
Do you have lower cost (e.g. in-state public) options?
Biology graduates tend to have relatively low paid jobs at graduation*, so it would be a good idea to avoid debt. If you will be a pre-med or pre-other-health-profession student, remember that health professional schools are expensive, so you may want to save money for health professional school.
*College Scorecard says that biology BA/BS graduates who received federal financial aid had median pay of $30,092 from Ohio State and $30,272 from UT Austin.
