What’s the are the differances between the Lincoln Centre and the Rose Hill campuses?

I know that this school is in the Bronx. Is this part of the city dangerous or have high crime rates? My dad is pretty worried about the idea of a college freshman girl going to school in the famous Bronx. Is it really that rough?

For the differences between Rose Hill and Lincoln Center, there is another thread talking about it below.

Um, I just want the differance. It seems like theyre kind of the same.

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/fordham-university/471302-difference-between-lc-rose-hill.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/fordham-university/471302-difference-between-lc-rose-hill.html</a></p>

they aren't the same at all...the Rose Hill campus actually has grass and is gated...Lincoln Center is just right in the city...I believe Lincoln Center is smaller as well. Also, I think you can only take business classes at the Rose Hill Campus.

It's not true that you can only take business classes at the Rose Hill Campus...I think what sunshine1230 meant is that the business school is in the Rose Hill campus, but there are other colleges there as well (the biggest of which is the college of arts and sciences)

Ok. And the surrounding parts? Does the campus feel safe? I'm also worried about commuting to the school as a freshman, because there aren't enough dorms.

The surrounding areas of the Rose Hill campus have character. They can be, like any part of New York, unsafe if you aren't cautious. But, if you take the proper precautions (walking in groups is the biggest one), then you will be absolutely fine. The surrounding of the LC campus is Midtown, the Upper West Side, and Central Park. Not too shabby.

Also, every freshman is guaranteed housing at Rose Hill. I'm not certain about Lincoln Center, but from what I understand, if you get your forms in on time, there shouldn't be a problem getting housing.

If I wanted to study math and chem would I likely be in Rose Hill?

Either place. But you can inquire directly on the web and see what is offered at Lincoln Center and ping the Department head for Chemistry.

From the Bulletin, its clear that Biology and Chemistry majors are offered at Rose Hill Campus....so it appears that Lincoln Center is not where you go for hard sciences. But the major in Mathematics/Economics is offered at BOTH campuses.

Ok, thanks!
Form what I hear, I would prefer Rose Hill.

I plan on doing the engineering program, and i might go to L.C. My friend knows people from there that do it and although hard it is not imposible

If you're doing engineering, you should go to rose hill. You can take math classes and lincoln center...but rose hill has all the good labs, great math/engineering professors, and is in general more oriented towards the sciences.
Lincoln Center is more focused on liberal arts, their fine arts and theatre programs are top notch, english, history, etc pretty good.

As for the difference betwwen LC and RH...I go to LC, LC is a lot smaller, right in the middle of the city. The social scene is all about the bars because the campus is too small and the dorms are too strict to have any big parties. People at LC are more..artsy/hipster (although not all) and there is no school spirit, lol

RH is the opposite. It's your traditional college campus and the students are more of your typical college students. The astmophere is a little more friendly and welcoming at RH...while at LC being a student is almost like having a job in the city and living in an apartment.

So basically, just go with whatever you prefer.

yeah thats true, I plan on doing latin american studies though, thats why I thought LC was better. hmm i'll think about it. Commuting from nj to bronx does not sound favorable though lol.

Well in that case, LC would be better because of the commute, and LC does have a good Latin American studies program. There are a lot of commuters at LC, and I am a resident here and have a lot of commuter friends, so it won't hurt your social life at all here.

yippie lol, thanks for the feedback yeah my friend goes there, and he is a commuter, and seems to have a lot of friends both residents and commuters, right now i am about 85% sure I am going to fordham. lol
