Ok, it's done. Whaddya think of Obama's speech?

But it's not rich over here, period. I agree, 250k is rich in most states. It's not in mine.

It's all a matter of perspective.

This is one of those "small issues" that Obama talked about last night, that does not matter. Who cares what McCain considers rich.

If anything it just means that McCain does not consider himself rich (his wife has the money not him).

Are you an idiot? It's not a small issue. McCain is out of touch with Americans. When people are suffering he has the gall and audacity to call 5 million/yr rich and everything under not? He doesn't know how many houses he owns when Americans are losing theirs at an alarming rate? He even admitted it himself "I don't know much about the economy" and "Our economy is strong" while we are in the biggest recession since the Great Depression! An AP econ class would do him well-though he's probably too stupid considering he graduated at the bottom of his class. And McCain has a net worth of over $40 million. He does consider himself rich. I don't know how much his wife has. But this is not a small issue. Indeed it is the largest issue in this campaign.

I do not know why you want to constantly attack ppl and not there arguements. In your post all you have to do is refute an arguement, you know nothing about me and yet you have no problem insinuating that I am somehow an idoit. Really, that is the stuff that causes division and the stuff that Obama supposedly was against.

I am sure other ppl who are wealthy have a different concept of wealth. Heck ppl in other countries would probably say your rich. It does not matter what he considers rich.

Do not call the man stupid, he did nothing to you and even if you disagree with a person it does not make them stupid.

Also on a side note. He said an income of 5 million was rich not a net worth of 5 million.

Do you see what I did, I refuted your arguement and yet I never insulted you or suggested you were dumb. Public discourse in America would be alot better if ppl realized that different opinions does not equal inequitable intelligence.

Yes. But I think it's safe to assume if he has a net worth of 40 million he makes 5 million a year. And let's just say he doesn't as you allude to. Is there any conceivable way of defining him as not rich? It's not a matter of perspective unless you're a frickin billionaire. AND EVEN THEN you'd think he's rich. Seriously. Please, entertain me, show me how someone worth over 40 million American dollars is not rich. I'm waiting.

I am not sure I how I am supposed to show you that someone is not rich online, as I think this forum does not support the posting of photos. But..;) :( :). There are more but I do not know how to create them.

I hope that was entertaining.

Look we both recognize McCain is filthy rich and 5 million a year is not the definition of rich by any mainstream definition. It shows he is out of touch with the mainstream on the economy. He even says he knows very little about the economy. How can he expect to be an effective President during the greatest recession since the Great Depression especially with a no-count at his side? If he had picked Romney this would have been slightly better. Now that's a man with real managerial and economic experience if nothing else. But oh wait, McCain doesn't like Romney...maybe because he's afraid to debate with someone who will call him out on his ignorance?

Rich: Net worth. I consider someone to be wealthy if they can live off 200K/year generated by interest/returns. So that would be 3.5-5 million in assets.

Income: If someone is making 150k/year they are doing very well off. Of course, this also depends on age. Making 150k/year @ 23 is totally different than @50.
