Ok, seriously, what the hell?

IIT: 2%
Harvard: 6%

Three times more.

India: 1.2 billion
US: 309 million

Four times more.

Not to mention, far more Indians (percentage wise) apply to IIT than Americans to Harvard.

^Incorrect. There are 15 IITs each with an admit rate below 2%.

I don’t understand your point either way…are you saying that because our population is much lower than India’s, our college competition should be lower as well? You seem to imply that Harvard’s admit rate should be below 2%.

My point is that you need competition if you want to have a successful environment. You were initially saying

I simply responded that you need competition. From competition, you will get educational fulfillment and personal development.

I agree with Mr. Prince on IIT.

Despite this article being from 2003, it still applies:

[Imported From India - 60 Minutes - CBS News](http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/06/19/60minutes/main559476.shtml)

I love this part from the article:

"Murthy’s own son, who wanted to do computer science at IIT, couldn’t get in. He went to Cornell, instead. Imagine a kid from India using an Ivy League university as a safety school. That’s how smart these guys are.

“I do know cases where students who couldn’t get into computer science at IITs, they have gotten scholarship at MIT, at Princeton, at Caltech,” says Murthy.

“When I finished IIT Delhi and went to Carnegie Mellon for my
master’s, I thought I was cruising all the way through Carnegie Mellon
because it was so easy, relative to the education I had gotten at IIT Delhi,” says Khosla"

yeahhhhhhhhhhh

That’s good news for the OP, then. I wasn’t insinuating that Tufts didn’t get front office recruiting. I’m just saying that OP should look into what positions the companies are recruiting for on campus before considering that as an advantage/disadvantage.
