So I’m an incoming freshman theatre major. I’m hoping to be on south campus because it would be close to most of my classes (and I’m from the south, so when it gets to be midwestern winter, I’d reeeally rather have my outdoor walk to class be as short as possible.) I’m interested in Jones for obvious reasons, and also 1835 Hinman because (I’ve heard?) it’s gonna be all-freshman and on south campus. But basically my question is…how does housing work? Like, once I pick my preferences, am I just put into a lottery? Or does the lottery thing only apply for some of the residences? Also, if I pick my roommate ahead of time, how does that change things? Basically, I am one very confused future wildcat and if anyone could help that’d be great!!
