Did you put one of these majors as your anticipated major? (If you got in LSP)
I picked one of these majors and the admission officers told me that I would NOT NOT NOT be considered for the LSP program. I am worried because I almost have no chance getting in NYU CAS directly based on my stats. :(

Did they actually explicitly say that you won’t be considered? Or were they just saying that to keep your decision under wraps since, I’m pretty sure, they’ve already made their decisions regarding LSP. I wouldn’t be so negative. Who knows, maybe another part of your application shone through and you may just be receiving an acceptance in April.

I applied as an Econ major and got into LSP. From what I’ve read about those admitted into LSP, it seems that Econ and Pre-Med majors seem to make up the majority of those placed in LSP. (I could be way off though, this is just based on CC users.)

^ no, that’s way off - lsp is generally for undecided students interested in liberal arts. pre-meds are often science majors, who are less likely to get placed into lsp (since many science programs are very difficult to do with lsp). As for econ, that’s just an extremely popular major in general. I think the reason you notice more pre-med lsp students on CC is because they’re very concerned with how to do both programs since they have no overlap (I get a lot of PMs asking this) and are constantly asking over n over…

@Shinywing - I know several people who applied with those majors and were placed into LSP, including my roommate who applied for Compsci, did lsp, and is still a compsci major - but this was years ago (she is a junior). NYU might have changed the rules for Class of 2014.

This is the new list. Economics is considerd for the LSP. I applied for the biochem and i requested for a change about my major, and i havent received any response yet. I am really worried now. Because there is no way I can get in with my stats. i really want to get in the LSP program.
