Does anybody know anything about the film program at Oklahoma City University? I am currently in my first year of college but will attempt to transfer somewhere next year that has a film production program. I am in Texas and would like to stay within the region of bordering states. I have looked on forums everywhere for feedback or student review of the program at OKCU but no luck at all. Also, if anybody has any experience or knowledge of the following programs, it would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

U.T Austin
Oklahoma City University
Stephen F Austin University
University of North Texas

UT Austin has a top notch film program. Their facilities are very nice, the program very comprehensive and they still teach both film and digital media. I think it’s one of the top programs in the country.

I don’t know much about the others, though.

I am an admissions counselor and graduate from oklahoma city university. If you would like to send me an email or PM, I’ll be happy to answer any questions that you may have about the program.

This is a newer program to our school (we’ve graduated about 4 classes) but the freshman classes have been getting larger each year. Our full time faculty have real Hollywood experience, starting with the chair of the department being the director of Children of the Corn. This also means that there are no graduate assistants teaching courses.

Our film students learn how to do everything from writing scripts, camera operating, editing, light gaffing, to directing and producing-virtually every aspect of making a movie. Other benefits include no out-of-state tuition, transfer merit and talent scholarships, the opportunity to attend a private liberal arts school in the middle of a vibrant and growing metro area, and small class sizes that promote a strong 1-on-1 type education with highly qualified professors.

I hope that this info helps! Like I said, feel free to contact me for more information and I’ll be happy to help.
