As a junior, I’m trying to decide if it will hurt to take and submit ONLY old SAT scores instead of the new SAT, which the majority of my class will likely be doing. When applying for colleges as a senior will these “old” scores result in a disadvantage?
No, I’ve looked into this a lot and all colleges say they will be accepting old sat scores. Every sat taken from the start of 9th grade can be submitted to a college and a lot of people take the sat in junior year to get it out of the way. If you take it in january and get an excellent score, no college would expect you to take it again. A lot of people I know, typically the more serious students, are studying now and planning to take the sats in november, december, and january.
