Older Than Average Students

Is anyone an Older Than Average Student?

I'm 22 and I'm a sophomore

dude, u r kinda older

What are you trying to say? That I'm only slightly older?

I was 21 when I was a freshman so that's 2-4 years older (ballpark avg) and to tell you the truth it felt odd... probably I'm older as far as maturity goes.. don't know

dont worry about it...not everyone goes straight to college right out of highschool.

Im 22 and am going to be a junior, I find I have alot more fun with the 18-20 year olds than the 21-24 year olds, the younger ones are crazier and I like that. Plus even though its just a few years id rather have a 18 year old girl than a 22 year old.

true about the girls... but not hanging out with 18-20... they tend to be more immature in contrast to myself... I'm not saying that all are... just think that most are... at least that's my experience, no trying to offend 18-20 yr olds at all. Probably most that are around here aren't because they care about their education.. anyways...

I'll be 21 while freshman.
21 = booze purchasing.
I don't see what your problem is ?..

I'll be a freshman coming fall and im 22

everybody is different and everybody has different circumstances

I'll be 22 soon but I haven't just started college. I'm switching over to an engineering program at a different school which pretty much means I'll have to start all over again because I haven't completed any of the pre-reqs except for some calculus courses. It sucks but I feel I've finally found the career I should be pursuing.

I'm 19 and a sophomore.

Where do I stand?

A long long way from booze purchasing, that's for sure

I'll be 17 and a freshman. 21 in 4 years when I hopefully get my bachelor's

one of my friends in architecture is 27, and another in architecture is 28...and they're cool and made a lot of friends our age (18-20). they don't act like creepers around girls, which i think is the only real thing you have to worry about haha.

I was the oldest freshman I knew at USC who came right out of high school at 19. I turned 19 about a month after graduation.

I'm a 19 year old soon to be sophomore and one of my friends is a 25 year old soon to be junior. He went to Iraq with the Marines before coming to my college, and once he got back he applied to every college within 20 minutes of Boston and mine was the best he got into (got waitlisted at Harvard- and he certainly should have gotten in). He gets along well with everyone and is even in a frat. The only major difference is that he does not hang out with people as often because he lives about 45 minutes away from campus by public transport (first commuter rail, then subway) and he works full time from Thursday-Sunday as the manager of a club.

One of my friends is a 36 year old senior, which made him a 32 year old freshmen. He lives in the dorms, hangs out with 20 year olds, and is married.

Well my best buddy is 32 and I'm 20 but he doesn't go to college (we were co-workers for years) so it's possible to have friendships with people of other names. This guy is married with kids.

The other factor you have to consider is maturity level of the ~20 year old as well as that of the older guy. In my case, I'm the one who acts like an older guy and he's the one who wants to be younger. We both are roughly 27-28 in terms of how we act.

It's happened from the other end with me as well (I've got a friend three years younger than me who acts 24 or so, we too are good friends).

Put it this way: Having an older guy around is like having Julio Franco on the Mets. Franco obviously is old (48), but acts slightly younger to get along with the likes of David Wright and Jose Reyes. While he may get along better with, say, Benito Santiago or Rickey Henderson (both of them should unretire because they are awesome and ageless) he's fine with the much younger group of players the team has.

that shouldnt be too bad. i mean most freshman are 19 and sophmores 20, so i dont c what ur afraid of.
