Hi,

I was invited to attend Olin College of Engineering's Candidates' Weekend this past week, but I live in California and I'm not sure if I'm willing to pay for the travel and living costs only for a possible acceptance. I was wondering if Olin reimburses the Candidate and if so, how the process works. Also, is this reimbursement limited only to the Candidate, or if the parents are included. Thanks!

Yeah, Olin will reimburse you, but the maximum they give you is based on the distance from Olin you live, and its designed to only cover the student. Like the people that live with 50 miles have a max that olin will reimburse, then the people that live 100 miles away, then like 250 miles away, and 500 (or something like that). Either way, their is a fair reimbursement to cover the travel expenses of the student (the parents, not so much) and they’ll end up sending you all this info in the mail… it will probs arrive monday or something. Also, traveling alone is fine, there will be an olin bus transport from the airport and olin will match you with a roommate to stay with at the nearby Babson Inn and Confrence Center (like a 5 min walk from campus) if you request it
