omfg, what does the QB app mean by "current high school term system"?

my school has 4 marking periods. you receive a grade for each mp.
there are 2 semesters. some classes are for both semesters (all 4 mp's). some classes are only half a year (just 2 mp's).
the final grade for the class is the average of all four (or in some cases, two) marking periods (plus the midterms and finals)
what the hell do i put: two grading periods per year, one grading period per year, or three grading periods per year? o_O

yupss…any help would be greatly appreciated

This sounds like a great question to run by QuestBridge. They have a contact email on their website.

What shows on your transcript? My son’s school has 4 quarters, comprising two semesters. Though grades are given for each quarter, only the semester grades (which include grades for finals) show on the transcript, so he checks off two marking periods and just enters his semester grade.

Given you have to choose one of QB’s options, I think two marking periods best describes your situation since some of your courses are only semester long. To make your grades fit into the computer form you may have to repeat your year-long grade as two semester grades. There is space on the application to give any additional information. I would explain your school’s grading there.

thank you very much!

You probably already have your answer, but it’s two marking periods. You get a half credit for each semester. I get a half credit for each trimester. I have three grading periods. think about what shows up on your final report card (probably your semester grades).
