OMG, I am screwed for AP literature tomorrow help!

yep, pretty much same here.

well, i did some practise MCs, then determined that w/e happens happens.

and the MC was much easier than i feared.

I also didn’t study, I felt prepared by just being in my class.

Used Crime & Punishment for third essay. All essays ~3-4 pages. I really didn’t think this test was that bad, but maybe I’m overconfident.

same here bananapop. my english teacher is amazing.

I love my english teacher. lol

What do you guys think about Life of Pi for the open essay?

I start from writing small to medium size on exams too!
I guess I just write fast. But in the end, I had about 15-20 minutes left to spare. I feel really confident about my open essay. IMO, I think it deserves an 8.

6 pages is A LOT.

I didn’t study either. I’ve never studied for English in my life. It’s the one thing that doesn’t really require studying… it requires practice though…

I know it is a lot…in retrospect I feel like I over wrote. I hope not mannn. I just really felt strongly about my book. Woo hoo for small to medium writers!

I said ocean in The Awakening represented freedom, innocence and rebirth.

“She did not look back now, but went on and on, thinking of the blue-grass meadow that she had traversed when a little child, believing that it had no beginning and no end.”

Water reminds her of her childhood, and the water is also a womb symbol. I think I got a 7 on it (even though it was only 3 pages).

Did anyone else find writing in pen ridiculously hard? I make A LOT of edits, and I rearrange sentences. I know graders say that won’t grade down for sloppiness, but I know that the natural, subconscious response toward sloppiness is negative.

i used the paint bucket at “Liberty Paints” in the INVISIBLE MAN

i used kite-fighting in the kite runner… pretty sure most of my class did haha, anyone else?

I want to cancel my AP Lit score…but if i cancel it, does that mean all of my other 6 scores will be canceled as well??

I know i can always withhold it…but i dont want to pay that $10…canceling is free haha. Thanks

I think you can just cancel one exam, I’m not sure though.

Yeah I hope so too!

Anyone with past experience??

I ACED the test!! so excited!! Open essay: I used Equus and how the chain resembled the restriction of freedom. I compared it to 2 characters (Alan and Dysart) and a theme. I think I aced the prose essay as well. Did pretty well on the poem passage and pretty well on the MC. hoping for a 5!!

The first passage for the mc was about the girl working at the drive-in in the summer.

Also, I wrote about Metamorphosis and his transformation into a bug really being a symbol.

I wrote about Gatsby and money. I thought it was a pretty obvious one, I’m surprised I haven’t read about more people using that. I was worried everyone would, but I guess LOTF and The Awakening are more popular.
I didn’t really prepare for Gatsby at all. I reviewed Sons and Lovers, The Awakening, and The Mayor of Casterbridge a little and figured one of those would fit. I read Gatsby last year and everything came rushing back. fasho.

post if you used Gatsby.

I thought MC was pretty straightforward.
My essays were pretty good, as far as I’m aware. I loved both the selections. what a great example of Shakespeare’s expertise with the language. and the prose one was really unique and cool.

@ TheFrog91: Life of Pi seems like it would be fine. I’m assuming you used the tiger? I’m curious about what you said about it.

blah blah blah 48 hours before discussing the FRQs
& forever for the MC

cya guys in COLLEGEBOARD PRISON

wait i won’t see you
b/c i won’t be there
