omit in math?

if you have no clue, should you omit or guess?
have many can u omit vs. get wrong for a near perfect score?(or perfect score)?

what about cR and writing?

ok let me put it this way.

for SAT I math...... missing/omitting 1 = you not getting a perfect.

I got a 780 first time I took SAT - I missed 1 (which would be the same raw score wise as just skipping 1)

second time, answered them all right - got my 800.

so I think missing/omitting 1 gets rid of your chance of a 800.

evilbooya is right...the math curve on the sat is extremely brutal b/c many people do very well on the section...seriously...if you miss/omit 1...youre probably going to end up w/ a 770-780 in math...

...the cr and writing curves are alot more generous...i dont know the exact numbers...but in each of those sections you can probably miss 2 or so and still possibly get perfect depending on how hard your version of the test was...

Writing is brutal.

Math is also pretty harsh if you're looking for 700+.
I'm pretty sure that usually, you can miss one math and still get an 800. That was the case in April I think.

Reading isn't as bad. I think you can miss up to 3 and get an 800.

Writing is brutal though-- 4 questions I think brought you down to a 69 on grammar.

It's rare that you can miss 1 and still get an 800 in math. In November I missed 1 and got a 770.

math curve is pretty brutal
1 wrong in march 2005 = 790
2 wrong in june 2005 = 740
0 wrong in october 2005 = you guess (:

also additional data

1 wrong in may 2005 - 780
0 wrong in oct 2005 - 800

wow sunkist, 800s from same test. w00t.

CR isn't bad at all. I missed one and left three blank and got a 780.

For SAT 2 Math 2 though you can miss a lot, I don't know the exact number, but it's in the neighborhood of 5-8. Correct me if I'm wrong. I know for physics you can get an 800 with up to like 12 or 15 omitted.

for the Jan 06 SAT you could miss 1 question, or get 1 wrong, and still have an 800 in math

CR was brutal; i missed five (raw: 61/67) and got a 730

Writing is brutal too: four wrong (raw: 44/49) was a MC score of 69
