<p>I know Colleges recalculate ones GPA, but i'm unsure as to which type of GPA is better to put down.</p>

<p>I think you’re supposed to put the unweighted one. Colleges generally consider weighted GPAs to be near-worthless as there is too much subjectivity involved. I don’t happen to agree; I think high school teachers vary widely in the difficulty of their classes and the toughness of their grading, and one teacher may round an 89.5% up while another may not. Colleges don’t seem to care, though. If in doubt, write, for example, 3.4/4.0 (unweighted) and/or 4.2/5.0 (weighted).</p>
