how beautiful/ugly is the wesleyan campus? i cant tell from any pictures on the internet!

My son and I visited Wesleyan Tuesday. Though the trees were without leaves and it wasn't a great day the campus was nice. It's convenient to downtown but not too busy. I wouldn't consider it the prettiest campus I've seen but it's nice. We also visited Trinity which to me had a nicer campus. Here's an objective rating of the school's in the area.....my opinion only. 1. Mount Holyoke ( a head and shoulders winner) 2. Dartmouth 3.Trinity 4t Wesleyan Smith Amherst 7.Hampshire 8.UMass Any omissions are campuses I haven't seen...... On a scale of 1-10....... 8

ah... hampshire is right down there with umass? thats disappointing. being the, eh, hippieish school it seems, i was hoping it would be sort of beautiful and outdoorsy.

Personally, I really like Wesleyan's eclectic mix of architectural styles. It's never boring and you won't ever get lost by mistaking one identical building for another! The CFA was a huge deal architecturally when it was first built, and really stands out, I think. And, you will never find a more perfect place to spend a fall or spring afternoon than Foss Hill. Period.

"Objective" ratings of beauty? Pleaaase.

liz6298 - I was at Hampshire for a weekend conference a couple of summers ago and I can't tell you how many times I got lost because all the buildings were designed to look neat, clean -- and, identical. The grassy areas were fine, however.

I personally love the campus, and to reiterate what has already been said, the building are very eclectic which gives it a very charming feel. It's all very well maintained and I especially love how it all sort of gathers around Foss Hill. Very nice.

A week or two ago, the entire campus was covered in a layer of frost, with each small tree branch and every blade of grass individually encased. It was one of the most beautiful sites I've ever seen

I agree. I think Wesleyan has a beautiful campus.
