On average, how many hours do you sleep per night?

5 or 6. Junior with 3 internships and 2 APs (heavy course load for my school)

I’m a sophomore with 6.5 to 7 hours of sleep a night and I thought I was deprived. Wow. I could not imagine getting 4 or 5 hours of sleep every night like some of you guys.

Junior and I get around 7 hours of sleep a night. But I wish I got more. I freaking love to sleep. I nap a lot too. I’m basically a grandma, it’s whatever.

I sleep 7 hours. After a long time I found out that’s the exact amount I need.

I just use [sleepyti.me bedtime calculator](http://www.sleepyti.me/) to see when to go to sleep. I read for 30-50 mins before sleeping as well.

Freshmen 7 hours.

10ish hours as a freshman.

@TheJuanSoto - have you actually noticed a difference when using that calculator? This morning I slept from 12-9 but I felt terrible. Some school days I sleep from 11-6:30, but I feel fine. I suppose this could be the result of sleep cycles.

Sophomore, 7-8, need at 8-9 (preferably more) to be truly awake … I need a lot of sleep XD

I blame homework and getting home late.

I envy all the accepted seniors, lol :)

Freshman, 7-8 (could easily get more if I procrastinated less.) I need at least 6 to get through lunch, and after 6 hours it doesn’t matter since i always crash after eating lunch.

Freshman 7-8 hours, all honors, basketball

One more week for me till spring break.

On school days I sleep about 5-6 hours… during the busiest one or two weeks about 4. I go to sleep pretty late and wake up quite early, mostly because being a boarding student, I only do HW after 10… and I’ve never slept in class.

I’ve never slept in class. I’m not a very ‘sleepy’ person haha.

Senior: 3-4 (sometimes 5) hours of sleep per night during the week. I work late in the lab (usually until 11pm) and have other activities that keep me busy.

I’m a home school Senior and my hours change. I go to a Vocational school from 8A-11A, go home and take a hour nap or so, go to work from 3:30P-7P, go home and get in bed at 12ish.

Good days I get 6 to 7 hours of sleep. I feel okay with 5 hours because I’m a huge power napper throughout the day, but my weekends are weird.

I work as a dietary aide and a translator at a hospital with 12 hour shifts on Sunday and 4 hour shifts Monday through Thursday. I’m a night owl, so I get in bed at 12P-ish and have to wake up at 5A to be at work at 6A on Sundays. I get Fridays and Saturdays off from work and I can sleep in on Saturdays (my saving grace lol).

Advice to all you younger HSers: Learn to take 30 min power naps throughout the day. They buffer nasty all-nighters and you feel so much better.

I thought there would be more sleep deprived people.

Well technically around 9 hours is the sleep recommendation for adolescents so anything approaching 6 hours is sleep deprivation.

6.85 as calculated from data spanning a week.

I wonder how many teens can get that recommended amount of sleep.
Tired of those experts telling us how much we should sleep when they can’t help us at all.
Of course alddig0 I am not directing this at you. I am just so irritated to see those experts say this say that on the news everyday.
So I wake up at 6 every morning except weekend, which means that I will have to sleep at 9. I am dismissed from school at 3. Then I take the bus home and by the time I get home it’s 4 in the afternoon. Eating dinner takes me about 1 hour. Then I have to take a shower, etc, which takes about half of an hour. So now I have about 3 and a half hours left to do hw and study. Note that this is excluding all other ECs.

Senior - 7 hours. Weekends, come home at 2am, wake up at 2pm haha.
