AT9, the mostly likely ones you'll land in are Wildwood and Salley (not knowing your pref order!)

Cat--Single room with private bath? Not many that don't go to RA's and upperclassman, so you need a really low number. Maybe you should at least consider a single with suite-style bath. You would share the bath with one other room.

I want to do a double but my parents are so overprotective!

my priority # is 755 and my first choice is gilchrist so hopefully for me, they assign me to a double or single room with suite bath...

idk...i guess i'll just take whatever comes....thanks sunnyflorida

johnnytremain - sounds like you might be my son's roommate. LOL

Cat -- how are your parents being overprotective with a double? Doubles are much better than a single. You get lonely. Trust me. I'm living by myself right now because my roommate has a boyfriend so she never comes here and it gets BORING. If they're worried about your personal belongings, there are locks on the desks and you can always get a little safe. I live in Kellum now and it's not as horrible as everyone makes it out to be. Some dorms hold 500-700 people, so it's not like you're the only one living there. Good luck.

I have a question though (not for cat). I'm living on campus again next year. When do we apply? I went to housing on my secure apps and it said to come back and apply July 19th (or something like that), but I don't understand. That would mean that freshman have their housing and that upperclassmen get whats left over? I don't understand.

Florida State University Housing - Undergraduate Housing - How To Reapply

Instructions for Current Housing Students

• Students who are currently residing in campus housing will be able to complete a Current Housing Student Renewal Agreement for the Fall 2009/Spring 2010 term. This agreement will be available January 21st for students to complete online or in person at the University Housing Office.

• An advance payment of $100 is due within 10 days of submitting the Housing Agreement to avoid automatic cancellation.

• Current residents are given priority assignment over new housing applicants based on the number of consecutive terms they have lived in campus housing. Earned academic credits have no bearing on housing priority.

• Students will maintain their original housing application date and priority number until moving off campus, so being the earliest person to apply in January has no affect on priority. However, choosing to apply after assignments have already been made will result in fewer available options.

Thanks, cybermom. I can always count on you guys. :)

krisssyyy:

i know that's what i want, a double but they're thinking that roomates are going to "affect my studies"...

=

Library! lol your parents need some convincing.

lol, do you have asian parents?

How did you get your priority numbers? I told my daughter to send in the $200 admissions deposit, but she said she didn't get a number yet. She will be eligible for the honors dorm, but since FSU is not her #1 choice (don't worry it's not UF! ;)), she isn't on top of it as much as I'd like at this point.

Hi audio!

Go to the housing website: Florida State University Housing - Future Students

The lower the number the better.

audio, the admissions deposit is not due till May 1, but the housing deposit, refundable all but $50 is due to get a housing priority number, and can be done at the link above^^.

Thanks P2N & Sunny! Guess we screwed up and sent the wrong deposit. I will send her the link so she can get it done ASAP.

ryuzaki2012: how'd you guess? =]

okay so this may be a dumb question, but does anyone know if degraff is usually pretty warm or kind of cold? in terms of what kinds of bedclothes and stuff like that that would be appropriate to bring for fall.

Pretty sure you set the temperature.
