i may consider getting a job during the school year next year as a freshman, to help pay off my tuition. but how exactly does the pay work? is there a system that counts the number of hours you've worked and translate it into an amount of money that goes towards paying your tuition, or do you get a paycheck that you use to cash towards whatever you want? also, what could be good places on campus to work, i've considering either food services or library aide.

are you talking about the work study program. if so then i want to know some information too

this was a question i had (also an incoming freshmen).

this is what i understand how things work. i could be wrong. if someone smarter knows, please correct
for the most part, the work-study things are done through the UCI Zotlink database of needed jobs. however, you cant log in until you are an official student (i duno if that counts after SPOP, after first day of class, or what). other then that, the only way to get a job and have it waiting for you on the first day of class is to contact the specific department and get the job (may have to interview, etc). in that case, most of the leg work is on you.
