On my app I put that I am a co-president

So I have a somewhat strange issue. One of my clubs has what is essentially a board of co-presidents (there are 5 of us, I know, odd, but anyway). We call ourselves simply "the board." On my app I put that I am a co-president because I thought it would be clearer than putting "board member" because the adcoms have no idea what that means. I also put down the areas that I am mainly in charge of, which I think makes it clear that there are a few of us.

I was accepted early decision to a top tier school.

Now, my issue is that I have managed to convince myself that the adcoms will think that I was lying and will rescind me. This isn't a lie, I would never lie on an app and from my perspective I am one of a few co-presidents, but the whole situation is making me nervous...

Am I being totally ridiculous? Or could they really consider this lying?

If you put co-pres and u feel that u are a co-pres, then thats fine! I dont see why they would recsind your admission

I wouldn’t worry. A bit odd that you have so many co-presidents, but I don’t think they’ll rescind you. You don’t seem to have lied.

You didn’t lie. Chill. They’re not going back through every single acceptance scrutinizing your extracurriculars to make sure you appointed yourself the appropriate leadership position. Honestly, they have a lot of better things to do.

So relax, and have fun at college!

So I’m okay?

Absolutely. You should be completely fine.

Adcoms will very rarely check on your extracurriculars unless its something truly out of the ordinary (as in less than .01% of the apps). You’re fine either way

Everyone cleans their titles up.

Poster Maker = Marketing Director
Co-president = President
Member of first year club = Founding Member
Influential member of first club = Co-Founder
Parliamentarian or Low Rank = Officer of xxxxxx
Created website = Webmaster Officer

Thanks guys. I feel much better now. I think I was probably just freaking myself out because I’m paranoid and convinced that something will happen to prevent me from going to my first choice school.

Uhmmm I know a girl at my school who was accepted to Cornell ED, and I KNOW she beefed up her application SO much with lies under her extracurriculars…
Ooooooh it makes me burn. But your situation is obviously different - you wrote it in your app in good faith that you are a co-pres, and it sounds like you are.

Yeah, that’s infuriating, Hope. I think my situation is different though, I AM a leader of this club, so I don’t feel like I’m lying. I’m just totally paranoid.

This thread made me laugh. Congratulations on your acceptance.

haha, John. This thread is pretty funny. Some people on this site are paranoid about EVERYTHING!

Agreed, but I’m quite paranoid myself so I can relate.

Mal77, I found your title conversions fascinating. I’d like to see more examples that I might find useful in the future.

(Just kidding… or am I?)

I think you were honest and stated your position to the best of your ability. What ticks me (and adcoms too I think) off is if you put only “President” or “Captain” when actually you share the position with others.

LOLOLOLOL

me thinks you worry too much.
