I really was kicking myself for applying to SCS because I really did not want to go there and I thought it put me out of contention for the priority wailtist(as I also applied to CIT). When I got my waitlist for CIT in the mail though, it says I was offered a spot on the priority waitlist.

I thought if you applied to 2 schools within CMU you would NOT be eligible to be placed on the priority waitlist. So, is this a mess up on their part? A change in policy in recent years? Or(maybe just wishful thinking) that they are seriously considering me and I have good chances so they made an exception.

Specifically anyone who this happened to would be great to hear back from.

Why would you think you’d have to have applied to only one school to be on the priority waitlist? Honestly, has anyone ever been waitlisted on something other than the “priority waitlist”?

For the kids that I know who were waitlisted, they also asked them if they wanted to go onto any other of the CMU schools waitlist. I believe some were accepted into schools they didn’t even originally apply to, off the waitlist. For those who actually want to attend CMU, I would say, YES, all of them!

well cmu sent two waitlist options, the regular and priority.

and I don’t know if this is correct but what I’ve heard on these forums is that if you apply to more than one school then you don’t get the priority option.

My D applied to 2 schools at CMU and has been put on priority waitlist for both.

The priority waiting list is a choice offered to students who were not admitted to any of their college choices.
