Hello. =) Dartmouth is currently my dream school, but I'm only a sophomore now. So I just wanted to know if you thought I was doing the right things (good ECs, challenging schedule) to have a good chance at Dartmouth when my time comes.

For my current schedule, I am in five Honors classes (English, French, Chemistry, Geometry, US History), which is the highest amount possible, and then Gym (required) as my elective. Next year, I hope to be taking 2 APs (Language and Composition, Biology) and 3 Accelerated classes (Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Current Events) with Journalism as my elective. Then in my senior year, hopefully I will be in 4 APs (Literature and Composition, Calculus, Chemistry, European or US History) then Journalism Honors and Gym again, to fill the requirement. I go to a Catholic school, so we have to take religion every year and that creates some problems with scheduling. Is that challenging enough?

In addition, I plan to take French at the community college. I will have to stop after two years at my high school because I want to double up in math so I can get to Calculus and dropping any other classes would mess things up. So, do you think classes at a community college makes up for this? It would mean that I wouldn't be able to get into the French Honor Society, but does that matter much anyway?

Also, I was wondering about my ECs. I'm worried about them because my involvement hasn't completely kicked in until this year. Then there are several clubs that are restricted to juniors and seniors at my school. My ECs will be:

Ice Hockey- 10-12
Track- 10-12
Student Movement Against Cancer- 10-12 (New club this year)
Environmental Club- 9-12 (Probably on the Executive Board for 11 and 12)
Service Club- 9-12
Tech Crew- 10-12
Newspaper- 11-12
Literary magazine- 11-12 (Most likely an editor-in-chief)
Peer Ministry- 11-12
Academic Team- 11-12
CCD Volunteer 10-12

There's not really anything extraordinary. Will my low level of involvement before this year hurt me? Any other suggestions on how to improve things while it's still somewhat early?

Any input is greatly appreciated! =)
