I was just wondering how large of a factor does senior year (grades and whatnot) play in whether I get admitted to a college or not.

For example, let's say I applied to Berkeley with a fairly good UC gpa (4.0) and fairly good SAT scores and etc. However, during my senior year I'm having trouble in certain classes because of the jump in difficulty of the curriculum. I took a cramped calculus AB course over the summer, and I'm doing poorly in my BC class, and my teacher blames it on my weak foundation of calc. This is reasonable, because he likes to go ahead and teach BC during the AB year, to his students. The AB students next year are expected to remember that material. So you can imagine how much fun I'm having (I have a D, curved to a C).

Would the admissions people look at my senior year, first semester 20-week grades and toss me aside?

Any other related info would be awesome, thanks in advance
